This is a 1998 180X we put together for my 14 year old son. Not as nice as my 1979 MX (which is currently under renovation) but still a sweet ride! Some old school parts, some mid school and some new.

OK, here is MY Torker. 1979 Torker MX, mid-80's Torker stem, (my original is AWOL), old school GT bars, Oury grips, Cycle Pro seat, old BMX seat post, Schwinn seat post clamp, Shimano 600 cranks, Sugino style 44T chainwheel, original style steel rims and knobby tires and coaster brake. Other than the GT bars and the Shimano 600 cranks it is as it was back in the day. I was told that the stem was an Odessey, but after I bead blasted it right on top it said Torker. The black powder covered that completely. After searching this and other sites I found one almost identical, and it is supposed to be an Asian made Torker stem. I also have a Takagi Tourney crank in red and some red Victor rat trap pedals I will try on for size once I get my red chain. I LOVE THIS BIKE! What a sweet ride! I've had Mongoose, Haro and some other big name bikes, but Torker is the only way to go! For my mid-life crisis I did not want a little red sports car, I just wanted my little red Torker!

I really need to take a better pic of this bike... Old school Torker, 1977. I wouldn't call it a survivor, but more of an NOS bike built back in the day. I got it as you see it except for the seat, Oakley grips and pads (I have all 3 Torker vinyl snap pads).

From Brian P:

the reason i say prototype is it has some different characteristics than others i have seen..... mainly the top tube area how its welded together in the center. the lack of a serial # and the fact that the coaster brake tab is solid....

it has been re-painted at some point and this is how i recieved it

Here is that better shot I was talking about. I still want an even better shot though--in my spare time.

pretty cliche' torker build. it's a semi-replica of a friends old bike that i always thought was cool. 1981-82 frame with the 1 1/8" downtube. it currently has gold DX pedals and a black torker stem.
