Thanks to Chris Moeller for his time and patience with this interview process. Thanks to Jake (Spur) for initiating this very enlightening project and keeping it on track throughout. Thanks to Ryan Partridge for his contributions to the interview (be sure to check Ryan's excellent blog devoted completely to S&M). Thanks to all the guys who posted S&M stuff on the site and who have been discussing it all in the mid-school forum - Nbl 49a and kcmobmx, Da G Ryde, Dingobmxer and others as well, we didn't have space and time to work all the great material available into a mere 10 pages... but, Jake and I both appreciate the dedication and effort some of you have been contributing to the S&M thread and the mid-school forum in general.

This was a very enjoyable project for me. Moeller is cool. A very gracious and accomodating guy. S&M freakin' rules... recognize!

Hm. Did you click on the pages? They should open up to 800 px wide or roughly 40% larger than they appear in the condensed form, which is pretty big.

I know a lot of the Old School guys don't take interest in S&M because they only began in 87 or so... but I'm telling you, you are missing out by not not taking a look at this S&M phenomenon. It's one of the great BMX stories.

American made goodness, offered by our kind of people... I just have a lot of respect for them.

Damn if only we could obtain that much info on each and every company! Glad he took the time to answer all those questions, even the tedious ones. Much respect for S&M.

On another note the late 80s, into the early 90s were an end for many things, and a beginning for many more. Think about how skateboarding, BMX, Hip Hop, all these things had almost revolutions, or atleast big changes paving the way for new styles and companies. Very interesting times indeed. I think people will look back in 10, 20 years and still feel these specific years were key in these aspects.

This has been an extremely popular interview. The interesting thing is... most of the readers have been non-members, people who came to the site specifically to read this interview. The only interview that has more views is the Jeff Utterback interview, and it has been up for a long time. But this one has been kindly mentioned in a couple of bmx blogs and on the S&M site, so it piqued some additional interest. (edit: this has long since become the most read interview on the site).
