Well, this weekend I totally thrashed that beautiful Bigfoot body, but it was worth it. I raced the truck at the Vintage Off Road Nationals in CT. I ended up taking home Best In Show in the Concours event, I think it had a lot less to do with the way the truck looked sitting there, and way more to do with how the truck looked going around the track. Most people haven't seen a balls-to-the-wall Clod in action, not even most r/c guys have. I was racing in Heavy Metal against a very fast MRC MT-10, a Blackfoot and for one race, a King Cab. Most people would tell you that a Clod is way outclassed against smaller 2wd trucks like that, but that wasn't the case this weekend. I was nearly as fast as them. I actually won one heat, when it was me and the Blackfoot. This Clod is silly fast and when it hits a jump, it airs out bigger than anything at the track and most of the time lands and launches again. People were going nuts, nobody could believe how fast such a big POS like this could go, or that it could handle so well. Even the hard core oval guys came over to watch it run. It was a total blast to race, I can't wait to do it again next year.

First off...I would never call that thing a POS!! Second...I'm a ton of the racing speed is dependent upon the driver. Not so much the speed of the car.

Yeah, I guess POS is too strong. But Clods are definitely not taken seriously by the regular race guys. Half the guys asked me what it was. Nobody could believe how fast it went and how well it handled. It was due to the Powers chassis and the fact that it was geared to the moon. I'm a decent driver if my car/truck is hooked up, and this thing is definitely hooked up. Now time to make a few improvements to it so I can make sure to beat the other Clods that I'm sure will show up next year. And take out a few King Cabs and Blackfoots too.

I'd usually try to go as big as possible on the jumps, mostly because it's fun. Now and then I wouldn't land right and the truck would roll and that always caused a big reaction with the people watching. It was just fun to drive around, it handles like a full sized monster for the most part, the body rolls back when you punch it, the slams forward when you hit the brakes.

The Clod got a new body and wheels. The Bigfoot body was in pretty rough shape after the race. It also got some CVDs and ball diffs.

I've been wanting to get a Tamiya Mini Cooper for a while now. When I lived in Jersey City I'd race them in the parking lots with a few friends. These little cars are about the most fun you can have with r/c in my opinion. This is the newer M05 version. Now I've just got to find a couple more people and race them!

That Mini Cooper is dope, I've got to get one as I am hunting for a real one as well and will probably buy in February.

I spent the past week rehabbing my sons buggy, an Arrma Raider that he drove into the ocean this past summer while on vacation. It is amazing the damage a little dip in salt water will do to all the hardware and electronics. I just got new tires for it in the mail today so I should have it as good as new for this weekend.

Bummed we never got the 3-6" of snow they predicted for my area, I was psyched to throw some snow around with my Wraith

I recommend a Tamiya Mini Cooper to anyone. It's not the fastest or most powerful r/c you'll ever drive, but it might be the only one who will make a grown-ass man like yourself giggle. It's really that much fun.

how much do the orange and green rc go for?

looks trick.

The green rc 10 is like owning a JU 6. Only 3 have surfaced that I know of.

The orange crawler is a custom built to the hilt buggy. I probably have about $2000 in that one. Everything is one off custom made.

I had to buy 2 Tamiya Bruisers at $700 each just to get the front axles so I can have true 4 wheel steer on the buggy crawler.

Damn! I wish I knew you before you sold your Team Associated stuff. I am a HUGE RC 10 fan. I'm getting back into that hobby as we speak. I've never owned anything as nearly as rare as your buggies. A mint 'box art' example is about the best I've owned. Had some vintage Team Associated oval race cars as well (RC 10L and RC 12)...I think? Vintage RC racing and collecting is a lot of fun. Now everybody will KNOW without a doubt that I am a dork.

some one say RC 10 :Power.Grin:
