I was wondering if these bars I have coming seem to look like the "Grail" item I believe them to be.
If you know anything for sure then post up!

Are they used or new? Be wary of Skyway bars that have been refinished. They've already been done by Johnny Chopper and now "The Frame Doctor" is modifying early Skyway E-Z bars to remove the double cross bars and replace them with a single.

I personally wouldn't touch them if they've been refinished. But that's just me...

in that case aren't they more likely to be lesser models, steel even?

Good shout.

That's a good point that i've never even considered before. How close were those TA 180/210/280/300 bars to Skyway race bars and how many of us have them without knowing?

i know the angles of the 2 pics is slightly different - but - the bars you show have a more sweeping curve then the ones below which have a sharper angle - its subtle but they aren't the same

is the knurling 2 rows of perfectly straight lines ? ═ ═ ..... or are the lines swaggered ?

Here are the pics since I recieved the bars.It has the 2 rows of straight line knurling. And I presumed they came off a 280/300 but he did not say that directly.I know he is a pretty straight up dude.I just thought thats what the bars were made for.

It would be nice to see someone with a definite set to be most positive though.

I just picked up a pair myself, with sticker......It will be interesting to compare....

Dont know if mine are cut or not until I get the grips off. As soon as I can locate my camera it will be picture time.

Ok they have been cut to about 26" mine are the same in every way to yours except being cut and the sticker.

Just curious, was that the pair of Skyway race bars that was sold on ebay with the cracked Skyway frame? Cuz I asked the guy if they were cut and he said only down to 27.5

I was going to bid but changed my mind.....

Here are my bars

too bad they were cut..they are 26 inches now.

looks like he tried to make another shorter cut but stopped, its not very deep, still sucks though.
At least they were cut evenly, these will clean up really nice, just a litle rash and very minor rust spots.

Can one or both of you guys (Willwoods, or Boxline) take a micrometer to the crossbar of your Skyway bars? when you have a chance :).
I have a set of bars here looking very similar too, same knurling pattern as Boxline's bars (above), but I think my crossbar may be a hair thicker. not positive though - photographing bars can be very deceiveing..

- Bars are 28 1/2" wide
- Rise is 8 1/2" (or just a hair taller)
- Crossbar is 0.74" thick.
- each Knurl is 0.5" wide (with a 0.95" width gap between them)
- No stamping on the bar, anywhere.
- There is also No Seam on the inside of the bar tubing.
- Extremely lightweight at : 1lb 9oz.

Any Ideas? could they be Skyway?
(did GT ever have knurling like this, possibly in 85 or so?)
