thanks for the info, photos and ads... interesting really. I can't really recall any attempt to educate on Quicksilver in the past. It's good to know.

Does any collector in the US have one of these in their collection? I'm trying to recall if I've ever seen one at a show or posted on line by anyone who wasn't a native of Australia.

Well I am not going to trawl through all of my old posts, but whenever I post a Quicksilver build up theres a description and a discussion in the thread that usually follows. I generally dont go around with longwinded descriptions of Quicksilver or Competition devolpments because its usually met with threads like this one. Sorry but its the truth.

You know, it's such an obvious knockoff of Mongoose frame geometry and even design elements... Skip was first and foremost an opportunist and entrepreneur... I wonder if he licensed or had some sort of agreement for Competition Development to produce those frames under the Quicksilver label...

I had never really paid attention to the Mongoose copies, but always thought they copied Thruster rear end... :)

Anyone know?

Is there any relation to the Aussie Quicksilver and the Mid-school Quicksilver?

None whatsoever. The mid-school bike was a cheap asian import that was bought in by Repco.
