Flared seatstay, nice!
I've never found a set of Motomag wheels, and now I know why :)

Nice haul.

HOLY MOTO MAGS!!!!!

Congrats - awesome stuff.
The schwinn looks like it has some nice Dia Compes too.

Looks like you found some forks - Redline ®, Auburn (middle) and (maybe Dyno? on the left)

Yeah, the Schwinn is pretty cool for sure. It's a 1964 Speedster... Maybe KenC would know more about that particular model.

That funky green Mongoose is a 1975 which makes it the 7th one known to exist according to Waza's site. The bike is in excellent condition. Definitely a "Holy Grail Goose" IMO, as those 75's are obviously rare as hell. The painted MM 1's on it look to be in great shape and they are apparently original to the frame, along with the forks, cranks and stem. There is a great story behind this bike too. It was sort of pieced together right out of the factory and only slightly upgraded over the years. I'm getting more details later this week.

The other Goose is an upgraded '77 in very nice shape also. I'm still not sure on what those three extra forks are.

RVW, if you need a set of Motomag 11's, just let me know. I've already got way too many. Same goes for anyone else who are members here. They won't be free, but they'll be rock bottom priced.

is the Schwinn a 24? or is it a 20 with 1&3/8 wheels? Sweet finds for sure. On a second look I'm guessing 24.

.........I see a cable show in the future for you...Maybe it would start with a phone call that turns into a tip...then an early half day drive to get to the barn where the bikes are supposedly covered, all the while trying to stay ahead of the bicycle 'parter'guys....!.....( Hey,wait....I do that now..!.).

I would be interested, if you end up with an extra set of clean MotoMag IIs.

Man Pete...wow.

Your pad has got to resemble the Chatsworth factory about now.

Glad someone like you is ending up with all this stuff. Your love for Geese shows no limits.

We need a pic of the full stable at some point.

I have a very very similar schwinn 26 in single speed "speedster".
Same color too.
They refer to these bikes as "camelback" speedsters due to the shape of the TT.
Mine came stock with some wimpy 26 inch rims these since have met the trashcan.
I "upgraded" to 26" roll fast beach cruiser type rims.
Worst part of the bike.. The seatpost.. It is wicked small in diameter. I had to kill a seat to fit (I should have used shims in hindsight)
Mine came stock with a benndix 76 coaster brake

Cool bikes for sure

How cool is that when a mongoose nut discovers a find like this!

PS: One of the motomags in the pic of just motomags looks like a motomag I, unless the monitor is playing tricks on me.
What kind of layback seatpost is on the '77?

PPS: This would be the second green goose you own right? Did you put an ad in the paper "Looking for green mongoose, preferably 1975 with MMI's, willing to pay $50"

some guys have all the luck!
Glad you ended up with all this stuff.. aren't you glad a DB fanatic didn't stumble upon this?

Well, what started out as a dream, actually turned out to be somewhat of a nightmare on this one...

Basically, the guy who was selling all this stuff including the "Holy Grail '75 Goose" let his son sell it all to some other random dude off of Craigslist. This happened the day before we were supposed to finalize the deal.

The father and I had talked a couple times on the phone and he sent me tons of pics. This went on for about 3 days. We had planned to work out the final price and all the details of the deal after last weekend. I was positive it was basically a "done deal".

Long story longer, I called him on Tuesday and he sent me back a text saying, "Sorry, everything has been sold."

Needless to say, I was in complete shock/disbelief. I called him right away. Basically he just said, "Sorry, but my son decided to do a deal with a guy from Craigslist who came over and picked it all up the same day he ran the ad. It saved us the hassle of shipping." I had no idea that his son was involved and had run an ad on CL.

Anyhow, that's it. I lost this deal... Oh well, guess it wasn't meant to be. Hopefully the "random Craigslist guy" is a member here or at least someone who will appreciate what an amazing deal he got. Those 75's are so frickin' few and far between... At least I feel good knowing I already have one and it's actually in way better shape than this one was/is. Still, it would have been sick to own two.

Funny, but I see this as a sign that my Mongoose acquisition madness is officially coming to a close. Sometimes it's more of a hassle trying to finagle these deals than it is fun. I already own way too many bikes and it's time to streamline the stable and concentrate more on riding and drumming. The acquisition phase of collecting has become way too time consuming for me.
Time to sit back and enjoy what I own and ditch most of what I don't need.

Yup, I'm gonna be streamlining for 2K10. Just like this site! Ha!

Bye, bye, my little green '75... We just weren't meant for each other... :bigemo_harabe_net-61:

That has to hurt. Sorry dude. I can't believe you didn't get the deal. You are the king of the Goose dudes so don't let it get you down. Other jewels will come your way.
