Has anyone ever seen anywhere, any sort of sales volumes from say, GT or Haro from like 85-88? Anywhere in between? I have seen an amount in sales BMX wide, I think it was 84, and the numbers were amazing. GTs and Haro's are everywhere still. Just was wondering how many were made in any particular year....

I've always wondered about those numbers too. When something made in the hundreds is considered rare, the more common examples must be well in to the tens or hundreds of thousands.

Interesting subject... it would be fun to get some real data.
mongoose must have been doing at least 20 thousand units a year at the peak. Total speculation on my part... but man, those were ubiquitous. And 20k units is nothing in the serious world of mass production.

Steve, i think Mongoose was more like a couple of KaBillion a week.

yeah... that may be a gross underestimation. 20k a year is not much really, only about 1666 a month. So yeah... surely it was more than that.

i was thinking about this as well. judging from the sequential serial numbers on some stuff (quadangles and skyways come to mind) i don't think they made that many. i have an august 83 race quad and the serial number is: 1237. my 83 skyway is an april date and has a serial of 1000 something. i have a august 83 gt with a serial of 2000 something.
i'm sure some other companies made a bunch more but i'm guessing 5 tthousand or so would have been a good production year.
