Please post all your back in the day BMX photos. Candid shots from the pits at the races, you and your crew at the jumps or ramps, straight racing shots. BMX Christmas or birthday presents. Whatever. Let's see everything.
I didn't make it through the years with much, but I'll get it started.
I know some of you have some gems, no matter if you posted them before... this is the ultimate back in the day photo thread.
We have to take back BMX from Facebook. It's ridiculous.

I don't have but a small handful of pictures either. Not one of them are racing pics. There were all taken at our home (at the time).
Earliest pic I have of me on a bike (about 1973 or so)

Ironically, I still have about 30-40 of my old trophies. All my bikes and parts were sold, but these two boxes of trophies survived somehow....

The only other items I have from my childhood BMX days, are:

....and the homemade dad/son Hutch sign that we made on an old piece of barnwood:

Not BMX...but still HUGE fun as a kid (me on the right)

These range from early 1980 to sometime in 1983, except for the first one which would be around 1974 at a guess. And I thought the girls stayed away because BMX wasn't cool, until I realised what I looked like in some of these...

Technically the last one isn't from back in the day, I just thought I'd recreate the usual stand by your trophy photo like they used to have in the magazines. Photos are from the Tasmania State Titles 1983 and as you can see, they didn't award huge trophies...

Interesting how so many great bitd shots come from down under. I know 84profile has a grip of some of the best bitd shots I've ever seen too. I hope you will post them, Stuart.
US peeps need to represent a little here.

Here are some that I really like
I love the old photo's with the dates on them...

This was one of the old ABA jumping contests they use to put on at some of the nationals. Jumping distance for money, what could be better.

Random jump #4000 some where in the middle of a construction zone in the hills

BMX in the early stages for me.. Sweet bike.

Me at the big O skatepark around 1980

Awsome shots everyone.
Steve if it wasn't for my mates and their moms I wouldn't have any pics at all!
Woody those random dirt jumps were my fav. We had some and they were always moving as the suburbs got built up. I've started looking around my house now for some spots like that. I want my son to have the same fun I did.
This is me about to hit my fav random jump. Same jump as the B/W pic in my post above. I loved this jump! Also my best mate Dean on the same jump. Also used to do this cover shot. The actual jump was done in the 'burbs. The first pic is my alltime favourite pic of me.

one thing is for sure, through all the changes around here, this site's members have generally managed to retain their extreme apathy.
