Who is this?
Awesome shot, it was posted in some thread... but I didn't take note of the member name unfortunately. Look at the well justified pride emanating from this shot. So good.

Here's another from the same day as the first I posted.
A little air. Hastily built ramp about two feet tall on the top of a slope. Could actually get some pretty decent air, but had to be careful. Went a little too far once and ate it head first into my 1964 Ford Falcon. Knocked a dent in the right rear fender. With no helmet...
Noteworthy style points... cool sock action.
You'll get to see the Falcon in a later post...

So many great posts here, I love seeing these old shots.
I hope it's OK to post these next few pics (they aren't mine), but I've had them sitting around on my desktop for a while and they certainly evoke the same vibe going on here in this thread; Precious youth and BMX at the embryonic phase.

early on:

quarter pipe consecutive shots:

Most of my racing pics were destroyed in a basement flood at my mom's back east...
But I'm lucky to have a few, just have to scan them...

Roger Serafin (in the Newark jersey #26) forwarded a couple photos I really like.
One is Atwater, and the other is in Sunol Ca, with Danny Ruby with the wizard and black Meno.
I am having a tough time finding pics not already posted, kinda feel like I am running out of neato new content.
Gonna kick in my bunnyhop pic.

Anybody have a Strato plate?

My friend Darrell Pulliam and I, in the stands at a national in Lubbock TX. 1982 I believe.
Darrell was ABA no 1 in KS for quite a few years. He was riding for BXC at the time. BXC had frame and fork sets made by Vorris. Mike Scanga the owner of BXC is infamously known for taking a swing at Voris at interbike back in the early 80's. Surprising... he's a pretty nice guy in general it always seemed.

Here's another.
Just after I gt the Quad. Tiny aluminum V-bars. Red Comp III tires. Coaster brakes and caliper. Hideous Haro lever. Proto Plate (wish I still had it.) And my first few trophies and ribbons.
The jersey is from my sponsor at the time: Lake Isabella Hardware and Mobile Home Supply.
Things I still have from this pic:
Frame
Visor

cool shots, guys.
Teambuc43, thanks for posting... you can't be blamed for the fashion choices, it was the times. What was that called when you roll your pants like that? There's term for it, but I can't recall. "Pinning" or maybe "pegging"... that doesn't seem right, I can't remember.

LOL I remember that. I am pretty sure it was called "pegging." I remember some dudes, especially the metal heads, would safety pin their jeans. Usually around a dozen each leg...

Just trying to keep the love going for this thread.

You'll see me with only two riding styles. Head down (I'm in second place in the above photo) or stupid look on my face.

Mum made the HART letters in the Aero style font. I loved that.

The last straight at our local track was uphill and a killer. Particularly when they decided to change the track and go around the start hill and do another 2/3 of the track and finish with the uphill straight for the second time. Once was bad, twice was stupid.

Ha ha I assume you mean the one off the ramp? That is my brother Steve. He could launch that bike like nothing. It was sweet. He always rode 26's. I did also as a paperbike but I felt better on a 20. Steve smoked on the track also. He got banned because we didn't have a cruiser class out here so he raced the twenty's. He always won so they all cried foul and he wasn't allowed to race on a 26 again. Wussies. That is also Steve on Christmas day in I think '78ish on the Mag Scrambler. It was cold as he** but we got new bikes so we were riding. I got my blue 36/36 on the same day. We had our un-brakes ready to go when we got our bikes. Ha ha.
The first pic is my brother Tim. He has all the other shots from that day. I haven't seen them in years. I think that I am launching off that ramp on my paperbike. Two speed kickback Schwinn if I remember right.
I don't have a lot of me but here are a couple classics shot from a 110 pocket camera. The first two are at my home track called Expo Park. Got that holeshot always. I had already installed my "tube" fork on my 36/36. Nice duct taped top tube pad. Sorry quality pictures but...
The black and white one is from my brother Tim's photo class back in the day. I had just built my SX-1000 from parts. First bike I ever did that with. Nice do huh?
The last shots are out here at some local jumps. Still there by the way. The bike that I am jumping had been been built for about an hour when my brother Tim took these for another photo assignment. He spaced, woke me up on a Monday morning. I slapped my parts that I had waiting for my yellow Quad onto his Sting Comp frameset. No brakes nothin. It was cold as he** also. You can kinda tell by my layers but funny pictures.
PS: Great pictures posted on this thread. Ya'll gots more style than I do I know that.
