Was looking at some YouTube clips and found this. Pretty interesting and the action is good. Mainly an exercise in posting video.

OK. Can't do it. Click the link I guess.
Is there a step by step thing on the site here? This is frustrating. Which option do I choose on the bar above when I am creating the post? Insert Image? Insert media?
I have the "HTML On- Auto Linebreak Mode" showing below while I am creating the post. Is that right?

you have to use the full editor posting page and where it says "Options" you have to turn html on.

and because it's been mentioned a couple times by people who can't get video to embed... the embed option is only available to site supporters. Hard to understand why you wouldn't be willing to kick in if you are here regularly... but in any case, that's why some people don't see the other Options toward the bottom of the full editor posting window.

Hey! I am a site supporter. Unless I let it lapse again, but my name is blue. I thought that meant I was current. And I can see all of the extra stuff in the contents when i first open up the site.
Am I current?
Or is "site supporter" different than "sustaining member?"
I show "sustaining member" under my name.
Just checked and I am good until February. Are there different levels?

Sorry, my comment was not directed at you... it was just a general explanation regarding embedding video and why some people can't see the option . You do have the ability to embed video. The first part of my post gave the technique.

Under the posting field there is a tab that says "click to attach files" ... but under that is the one you need - Options.

Click the "click to configure post options" link. Turn HTML on. Drot the EMBED code into the this area where you type to post.

Note that the "link" to the video is not the same as "embed". On most videos there will be a "share" option and somewhere in there will be a place where you can copy the embed code.

I think Aguillar may have done a tutorial on this. I'll look for it later or someone else can post the link. It's way easier than it sounds here.

Really it's just copy embed code, paste here in the text field, then configure options by turning html on. that's it.

Whew. That's a relief.
So, do I just right click and paste it, or do I use one of the buttons on the posting toolbar?

no not the posting tool bar... it's all below this text field. "configure options", is what you are looking for.
