His father was the owner of Ultramax, hence the name on his leathers.

Love a GJS....the craftsmanship on the ones I have seen is top notch...The grinding of the welds on the caps for the stays, just awesome.
Big thanks to MarkMc for that run down...I was fortunate enough to ride down to LA with him; I am still trying to process all the info...having a hard copy helps! Dude can research like a mother...

Heres my other two. The red one I got off ebay from a guy who said he got it from JU's dad in 77. Had no serial. OG paint and decals. Complete as it was from bitd. I changed tires. Was very new to collecting and had no idea what I had. Have no idea who I sold it to or where it went. The chrome one I built. Ive seen it on Ebay at least once since. The guy I sold Lionels orange one too parted it out and ebayed most all of it instantly.

Here are some pics of the A-84 I just picked up.
Via Casey Marks or "SupergooseD" over on vintage.
I was told only 200 of these were produced.
I personally consider it quite the find as I previously had a '83 A frame single gusset but she came forkless and I was unable to find forks over a 4 year period so I gave up and sold her.
Note the 2 NOS seat post clamps. One will be up for sale ...

Nice find, I thought the factoid on production numbers was interesting. Was that a reliable source of info, and can anyone else add insight to that? I'm not doubting it... just wondering if we can get confirmation or numbers on other models as well.

Steve, that's just conjecture from me on A-84 production. I have 3082 documented as a Gen3 (single gusset), and then, 3100 documented as an A-84. The Gen4 gusset frames got a GXXX SN, so, this is my speculation on SN continuation on the numbers, with only 18 numbers missing. So, I'm pretty comfy my start number is really close. I just don't know how high they went.
The actual spread on A-84 numbers I have is quite small, so, 200 could be high, but, the counts of frames on the later models I have SN's on is so small, that it's tough to do much more than make a logical guess, which is what 200 is, a logical guess. Someone could turn up an A-84 tomorrow with a much higher SN than mine and I'd have to revise that estimate.
