Putting together a neighborhood cruiser/excercise bike, hoping to be as era correct as possible also, and I've come up with my 1st two questions for the house Hutch experts:
1) What year is this setup?
2) What would be the most correct Hutch race stem? Deep H or Western H?
thanks,
Claude

Nice start you have there. I am pulling information from JJR's awesome Hutch website. The frame looks to be late 84 to mid/late 85. The ads for that year show a deep h stem.

Just keep in mind that the year is still a rough estimate. No way to tell succinctly from serial number, other than the existence of a serial number (on the dropout with no Koizumi mark) means USA made '84 or later.
BITD, I ran a DK stem on my Hutch with GT race bars and Takagi 1pc cranks. I wasn't big on the matchy-mathcy Hutch stuff.

I also ran a DK on my Hutch cruiser when it was built up in the 80s and still on it today..
