So,
Go back 3 years, my friend Colin kept telling me about a friend of his, who had an oldschool BMX, and wanted him to meet me. 3 years, and 15 stories later, I finally get a phone call, last night, the guy wants to do something with his OS BMX. Never once did I get what kind of bike it was. But my friend who knew this guy with the bike. Kept telling this guy about me, as I am a Vintage collector. Well, phone wrang yesterday, we where GO to meet up, so I can finally see this "BMX bike" he has had for 20 plus years.
When I saw it,he said I think the frame is a Cooks bros, and the hubs are Phil something... I was floored, he didn't even know what it was. I told him it was at least 600-700 frame set. After some talk, and some haggling, I traded a guitar worth roughly 500 bucks, and a promise to at least restore it, before anything else is done, we shook hands. He told me all these years, he wanted me to have it.As his friend, our mutual friend had spoken highly of me. It was very cool, and I am a firm believer this bike was destined for my collection. I will build it as a true survivor, with all used parts. I am stoked...

Well, I wasn't sure a 20" Cooks Bros frame and fork, with Cooks euro botom brackt as a package should pull at least 500. Or am I wrong here? That was just an overall price guestimate, I have never sold a Cooks frame and fork package before, I am pretty sure they are in that range...
Anyways, for now, i am gonna build it..

Sweet bike, the hubs look to be in great shape. This bike must have been kept indoors

That seems high to me, I've sold a few Cook frame and fork sets on ebay, two of which were euro BB frames and none of them fetched even half that.

Ok, wasn't sure... Like I said, wasn't sure.... Thanks for the input. I am gonna build it anyway, so resale price doesn't matter for now...

Nice find.

Whenever you see a high dollar Cook Bros sale, it's not the frame set that makes it expensive, its the parts attached to it (Cook Bros bars, seat clamp, post, hubs and stem)

I still think you did good.

If it was parted out but please not on this one. That a survivor.

phils 200

cooks bro ff for 250-300

tuf neck stem 100

600 cranks 100

redline bars? (hard to see) 50 to 85

Thats right off the bat without knowing the bb or tires, wheels, etc.

I still think you did good. restore it to its former glory and keep it in your collection. Good luck!

Sorry to be pedantic, but it is a Cook Bros frame/fork (no "s" at the end of Cook).

Super sweet bike!

Wish I could find some of these $250 CBR framests you guys are claming. NEVER seen a frame, fork combo that cheap.

Just clean this up. Get a red rear hoop and a seat and leave it as it has been for all these years.
