Shock and Telescopic Fork Question...For you old farts

I was wondering if anyone has dis-assembled a shock and or a fork set?
I'm looking for some help as I am interested in rebuilding both.

I do believe the forks have a circlip on the top and once that's off they pull apart? I'm still to do mine so I can't say for sure.

i took apart 2 shocks from a rampar twin shocker real pain you have to pull the spring back an get a wrench on the end of the shaft an then turn the eye then they came apart
