I'm putting together my original bike I got when I was 12. (Thank goodness dad lived in the same house for over 30 years) Everything on the bike is original from the day it came home from Phenoix Cycles. I got the complete bike, a set of maxy cross 3 pc., KKT Lightnings, CompIII's, Skyway TUFF II's, UNI (standard)I think I got it then, chrome V bars, TUF NECK stem, and OAKLEY 3's or maybe A'ME duels. So all the o.g. parts were stashed in a box and put away. I'm cleaning and greasing the bike and putting everything back together.

Somewhere along the line my o.g. grips caught some kind of funk, they look like they have little black spots on them. I've scrubbed them with some dawn soap and it cleaned a little of the grip itself but the black spots are still there. DOES ANYONE have any idea how to clean the grips with out harming them?

I'm pulling my hair out!!!!!

Westly's bleche-white is probably your best bet.

the gojo worked well on cleaning the grips, it didn't remove the black spots though. I'm going to try the Westly's bleche-white next.

I remember back in the day scoring about 12 pairs of grips. They were all nos but just sorta dusty and a bit scuffed.

They weren't high end or anything so I took a chance and just threw them in my washing machine, and ran a cycle.

LOL, they came out perfect.
