Ok,
After a few months, and a few parts purchases, I completed the next phase of recreating my 16 expert racer from BITD.... This last round of upgrades, included polished sided Araya 7c, with DT black s[pokes, and 1st gen philwood hubs. Switched back to OG Cheng shin tires, found a VDC solid seat post, and MKS bearfoot Pedals, courtesy of SE666, AND THIS BIKE IS SLOWLY TURNING INTO MY CHILDHOOD RACER. IT IS ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME NOW. It is cool seeing it turn into the bike I lost when I was a teen. A friend had stollen it from me, and all these Years later, I feel like I am getting my bike back..VERY COOL....AND I AM BUILDING IT WITH ALL ORIGINAL FINISH PARTS. NOTHING WAS nos OR NEW OR REFINISHED. EVEN THE CHROME IS ORIGINAL. And the bike shop sticker on the frame..SEE PHOTO OF ORIGINAL, poised on backyard berm...

You said a friend of yours stole it? I don't think I would call him a friend... I'd call him a dick! Did you get the bike back or is that a new bike?

Both bikes are well done.

The drive train is very cool both ways. New build with Campy and MKS pedals (or) old build Mighty Tour and Reedy, like having to pick between brunette or redhead supermodel.

Attention to detail is evident with your work.

The bars are just wrong, late 80's or early 90's GT, i AM STILL LOOKING FOR THE PRO SIZE nICKEL V-BARS i HAD ORIGINALLY.
Stem, is my original Redline stem with cook bros red box clamps. I've had that neck since the first Champion I had..

Yes, the guy was a dick, not a friend at all, he moved away with my bike.... Never saw him again, this is a re-creation, only original part being the neck. It was actually on my 1st Champion, it was stolen with a tuffneck on it...
I am doing my best to remake the first bike shown in photo...

There are plenty of Pro sized Redline V bars lately. Snatch a set up.
