Come prepared with plenty of drinking water. It will almost certainly be a sunny so-cal day, so stay hydrated and happy.

Also... bring sun screen for you and your kids. This is a family friendly event. All are welcome, but please keep an eye on your kids and don't let them get jelly on somebody's $500 og pad set, or knock over a row of priceless show builds.

• Mention shirt size!!!!
• Include your full name clearly printed
• User name here on the site if you have one.

What is the advantage of pre-registration? That's the main way that this event can support itself. Beyond you guys who are supportive enough to register - I personally pay for everything else.

Also it REALLY helps us better prepare for the size of the crowd and we appreciate it. However, it is also a better value. Registering the day of the event on site will be more costly.

If you want a shirt please pre-register. We will have a limited number of shirts available the day of the event, but we ALWAYS sell out. Last year we sold out at 10 am. Pre-register to guarantee that you get what you want.

Thank you. Please pick up your registration packet at the BMX Society booth the morning of June, 2nd at the event site @ Whittier Narrows BMX.

The event will open at 8:30 am. People taking part in the judged bike show must pick up their registration pack and have their bikes set up for judging by 10:30 am.The bikes will be judged from 10:30 am to 12:30pm.

Psycho is coming in from AZ I believe. I 'll be staying at my sister's in Arrow Head, so I'll be...

Stoked, now I just need to sell more poop without being scammed by d-baggers. Dennis, Brian, and Rick... I'll grow a pair and actually step up and introduce myself this time.

What kind of license do you need to compete in the old school races? There's a group of us coming from Australia with a couple of Nomuras, one of which may need a spanking on the track.

USA (formally ABA) BMX racing every Saturday evening at the track requires a USA BMX registration.

However... the old school race during our event only requires a "practice fee", that is standard for the track. It's $7 or $8 bucks I believe. That will be paid directly to the track staff the day of the event.

Other than that... the only requirement is a helmet a long sleeve shirt and long pants.

Damn dude, you had better!!! Don't you dare feel intimidated by a bunch of old(ish), used to be, BMX racers from SoCal. I am so approachable, there is no excuse. Except, of course, unless you want to get a word in edgewise.

Don't get me started...

Dennis even let me and James (Jarvi) ride the tank... er... side-hack. :) And Brian makes you feel like you've been hangin' out for years ('cause, in a sense, we have).

Hey Lee, at least Dennis' side hack went in a straight line unlike on of the others we rode that day! Felt privileged to have ridden it and tried to lift all 70 lbs or so. Was that the weight?

Lee, it was a pleasure to meet you. And I think we can confirm that there were no side affects of our meeting?

Yes I let you guys ride my hack, but I did so at your own discression. I think I still have the waivers around here somwhere. :)

Here is the motley crew...

Side effects? Just some sore legs... not mine though. James' were pretty sore I'm sure from pedaling my fat ass around the track...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pay day tomorrow and I'm booking my flight. I'll be flying in arriving sometime Thursday evening 5/31 and heading back out on Sunday. As of today (4/12), round-trip airfare is $353 (including tax/fees I think) to and from LAX out of Philly via Virgin.

I paid a bit more than that in 2010 with a layover in Chicago (though, I'm guessing I booked much later).

Book sooner rather than later - it's cheaper.

Flight booked and arrive 6:40 Friday morning after night flight and I don't sleep on planes... $450 from Honolulu. Bit cheaper than from Australia.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone I met back in 2010.

yeah... the pre-reg packets will go on sale in about a week.

Price is not finalized but it will be very affordable... less than the cost of 7 gallons of gas in Los Angeles. That's safe to say.
