Hi I am a new member and new to BMX riding and collecting. New meaning I havent rode for the last 20 years. I love to hunt items that need to be brought back to life and if it makes me a few bucks for my time thats cool to. My buddy showed me the prices of some vintage bmx stuff online and I bought a looptail mongoose and I was hooked. After inquiring with a few people asking if nthey knew where I may bfind some old bmx bikes around here I had one lead on a bike that was on the curb with someones garbage. I scooted to the address and turned this up. Any help identifying this bike would be greatly appreciated because I am stumped so far.

Welcome to the site. Most likely a department store Track Certified bike. Small frame, generic parts, lawyer holes on the fork, etc. Don't focus on the value, you'll have more fun. .02

I know some Kuwaharas came with that style chainwheel and OGK mags. Could it be a low end Kuwi? Serial number suggests 1985.

I was thinking the same thing.
Low end Kuwahara ... a "scamp" or something?

Welcome. Rip Van Winkle isn't being facetious. He's got a small shrine of a thread to dept. store bikes around here somewhere.
