I paid him a visit this afternoon and came home with this and some parts including an alloy hubbed Tuff. Considering the size of my town I'm happy and it was 30 seconds up the road from work.

I took a punt on a local FB sale site a few months back. A guy told me he had some old school parts and needed them gone.

Nice one, Glenn. Diamondbacks deserve more attention, and it's weird how little we see them relative to their presence back in the day.

I speculate this could be somewhat due to rideability factor. Coming from someone who likes to ride what I build, I've never ridden an 80's DB that was comfortable for me. They all feel very small... though I've never ridden a Sr. Pro or Leary Turbo.
Or maybe they don't get the attention ~BECAUSE~ they were so common BITD, especially bikes like the Silver Streak, Pacer and Formula (for the short time they were both available). They were also much more affordable than offerings from other mass producers like GT and Hutch, which translated into a more generic parts selection. All speculation on my part as well.
I think the same goes for looptail Mongoose as well. They were so plentiful and generic, save for the Kos Cruiser, Pro Class/Rupe bikes, that they don't get much attention.
Not that any attention isn't deserved. I for one enjoy seeing these bikes, preferably near stock specs with some minor tweaks, just as if someone had bought a complete BITD and swapped a couple parts along the way to improve on the shortcomings (perceived or real) of a generic/mass-produced/affordable true BMX.

Thanks guys. I have always liked them
We had a very strong factory team down here where I raced. A few friends had them too. The chrome is very nice Lee. It will look like new.
