Bob Devitt Replica almost done.

Here are a couple of studio shots of the Bob Devitt replica. I could only find one picture of this bike. I built it without using the 2 speed set-up. As soon as I can find the correct parts for the 2 speed set-up I will run it but for now it's a single speed set-up. I am fabricating some pedals for it they are almost done. Oh yeah how can I get a hold of Mike Devitt. What is his name on here. Special thanks to nonamecruiser for the black vinyl bar pad, Larock for the 7B's with atom hub, Malcolm Smith for the bars found them in his stash of parts that he had. and if I forgot anybody Im sorry I am building alot of bikes right now and I forget. Hope you all dig it. More pics coming soon.

Looks great Joe. The #6 (or Bike-Ette bike) is a bike I had in the back of my mind to do for years. I always wanted to but never did. I'm stoked someone finally took it on. I'm glad it was you. Can't wait to see this one in person.

Wow!!! thanks Sod that means alot coming from the moto man. I always enjoy your builds and history lessons. I am still trying to get some of the rest of the correct parts for this build but what I have will have to do for now. This is one of the bikes that just caught my eye. Thank you everyone for the kind comments.

Roooots! Dig it. Did you say that was a Trickray stem? Was Mike behind the Trickray product designs and packaging for DL? Love the side plates too.

Wow, even though this dates to right before I started racing, its VERY, very cool. Its funny, cause before I found this website, I was unaware of this early phase of BMX. Now that I see it, and the bikes representing it, I really get a better feel for our history, and roots of BMX. I DIDN'T REALIZE THERE WHERE BIKES OF THIS CALIBER IN THE EARLY 70'S...I thought the real quality bike started with the early Mongoose, Redline, Champion, etc...I've never seen a nikel or chromed Stingray ever, ever........

Wow thanks so much for the compliments. As soon as I finish her I will make a parts list and more detailed pics. I tried to finish it today but I had to get ready for mothers day. Daisy is going to make Quiche Lorraine, mixed green salad in frico cups. (Thomas Keller's Bouchon recipe). She makes my mom a killer dinner every year for mothers day. And for desert she will be making a Fraisier cake. We are big fans of good food.
