found my first skateboard

miraculously this was in a box in my folks' basement. I got this from a local department store in 1976 or 1977. cost seven bucks.
board has no manufacturer mark, but the wheels are trickray trackers. they used to be lime green. I'm going to clean it up, replace/repack the bearings and hang it in my office.

had some outrageously good times on this board.

My first board was a plastic one also...except that mine was some weird multicolor swirl.

Everyone in my neighborhood started out on a plastic GrenTec. I guess that is what was available at Western Auto or something like that. A few of us upgraded as our skills increased. I've still got my old G&S but it's pretty whipped.

I found a similar GrenTec a year or so ago. It is slightly darker orange than my original but it in almost perfect condition. I can't believe we used to ride such tiny boards.

We had a local fiberglass place that made boards in the early 70s, I have one.
