I just bought a single decal on ebay for $35 plus shipping. I bid at the last second and won. Now I had planned on "sticking it" - but now I don't know if I wanna do that.

Posted Image Too funny, but I feel you. Slap it on a plate (or whatever) and don't look back. Stickers were made to be stuck, knowuttamean?

LOL

This is the reason why I got the sticker. This frameset was the (imho) the baddest squareback I ever seen. Unfortunately it was sold before I saw the post.....

I got a squareback and it is all corroded too. You can see where the headtube decal was at one time, but I didn't want the stock one. I was considering all kinds of things until I saw that decal on the bay. Wish I had another one.... Anyone got one?

this is a pretty boring thread based on the responses, but that's ok. I am going to keep it going.

Here is the build I am working on. I got the frame fork and bars and they all came from the same bike. This bike was parted out. I didn't get the other parts including the first-gen redline double clamp stem. Anyone has one they want to sell, I would appreciate knowing about it! The bars are crimped where the clamp was.

i too, have been going through "decal sticking syndrome". after 4 years i finally applied a gt "santa ana" downtube decal to a 1983 pro i've had for years. it's a super clean original chrome with a real nora cup dedcal and a real coin headtube decal so it deserved the real frame decal too.

like marc said....have a few drinks to ease the application.

next up for me. i have a clean pro racer that i've had the fork decals for several months now and i still have not applied them.

part of the fun is in the hunt.

took it for a ride today. haven't stuck the decal yet. looking for some other decals to put on it. this is the way it looks right now, but I will soon be changing out the cranks and the chainwheel as well as the seat (seat and seat post belong to other bike).

Need an early prototype redline double clamp stem (the previous owner kept it).

crazy ? that is an NOS northridge decal . a real one is a lot harder to come by than a prizmatic decal . that is actually the one that is correct for your bike anyway . did you take the old decals off that frame set ? looks like they are gone in the built up pic . please say you did not .Posted ImagePosted Image

Here is a picture of the headtube. It is not really clear in this picture, maybe if you blow it up you can see it, but there are traces of where the original oval once was. It will be hard to line up the decal for sure.

Here are the two headtube decals I have. The "original" doesn't appear to be original for a bunch of reasons, but it was a gift and touted as an original. I am sticking wihth the prism decal because I think it is way cooler. My inspiration for this build is the squareback f/f above, which I missed out on when it went for sale. I would have bought it for sure even though I was not in the market for one, because I think it is so cool.

Here my "high-tech" coaster brake setup. This bike is dialed (almost) and will be cool to ride. It has tough gearing and I plan on riding it to work to get a good workout. The drops on this frame are in really sweet shape. Got a good find for sure.
