werd i live for the hunt - digging the cebe joints and the campy bits - those Kobe (O2 knockoffs) are hard as brick tho, not that I wouldn't have snatched them up too

actually the grips are pretty soft and have the same (pretty damn close) look and feel as oakleys. definitely not a hard, shiny plastic compound like most knockoffs.
the bars i think are CBE too. does anybody have a set to confirm?

I had a few sets of the Kobe's over the yrs and they weren't hard shiney plastic - they are rubber but hard/stiff as brick not nearly as suptle, they are also a tad bit shorter then the real ones - my boxes were different tho (white and red with more design on them then those white boxes)

The record c style headset is mixed matched a bit too - the large washer with the text around the side is an earlier record headset (that streamline cup woulda taken a plain lock washer that sits recessed in the cup - and appears flush on the top once it drops in) the top nut would also have been taller and have the same streamline look to it (the wrench flats for those are like slits .....
I'm so jealous of all the swapmeets/ fleamarkets you guys have ! If it wasn't for fact Kerry was driving I may never have made it to the show that day - we past like 3 large flea markets/swaps on the way there that day - but we're running late that morning as it was ...
Ya lucky bastards.

Congrats - Nice score! Those Kobe's remind me of the old Oakley grip I used to use back in the day...

thanks for the info fellas.
we removed the c-record headset off a bike. it's complete...it just had the extra campy washer on there to work on the longer steerer tube.
these kobe grips are pretty soft...especially compared to the winner circle and other knockoffs i have. i just put them up against a set of oakley 2's too... the kobe's are maybe a 1/16" shorter.

Why is is that that model Cebe stem is the only one that turns up NOS? I've seen a dozen or so on eBay from the east coast in the past couple years, and now this big lot on the west coast. There are at least 2 other versions, and maybe I've seen one NOS version of those turn up in that same time.

I agree ^^^ my guess would be these were the latest of the version when dbl clamps already became passé, so they were left behind to sit.
Patrick those are def. softer then the winners circle and octopus cheapies - rubber vs plastic - but they are def a more dense compound then the oakleys which were a softer rubber and wore out super quick - those KOBE last way longer and do break in rather nice - but it takes a hella long time and allot of calluses to get them there - lol
Those forks are pretty nice - are they painted rl nickle forks ?

yep, the forks are redline.
did redline ever paint nickle forks? looks like its factory ??
about the CBE stems...
this one is NOS. it's a different version from the ones we just got.
the underneath gusset looks like it's a higher quality than the lot we just scored. just a guess, but the red ones we picked up look like an earlier version.
