I have a set of 4 spoke Rev X Rox. They are very cool but I ride them very lightly. If all you are gonna do is cruise off road and not go bombing, they are a great choice. I paid 6 bills for mine when they were new. I have only seen a few sets like those and I wouldn't mind having a set. I'm a mag wheel lover of all types as long as they are good quality.

Yeah I just ride the urban city bike trails for excercise, I'm running a vintage Pulstar wheelset with Sun rims but keep busting spokes, and I'm fed up fixing it.
I was hoping to get em for $250 You think that will be possible? They don't have the disc mounts so that puts him in a limited market.

Hard to say but I would not sell them that cheap unless there was something wrong with them.

I just talked to him he says they have less then 100 miles on them. I appreciate the info might go up to $300 on my offer.

It's tough to figure out what anyone will drop to. My neighbor has been selling her house since February. She won't drop the price, doesn't need the money and refuses anything. Weird to figure out people's selling points. Good luck!

Well when I pull up in the Benz and pull out a pocketful of $100s we'll see what happens.

I say 3 is a good deal if you can get it. Those wheels were designed for XC racing. Hardtail XC racing bikes still run rim brakes. Not outdated really. At least not in that way. Good luck with it.

You roll up to me in a Benz I'd be saying "this guy can afford my price". Roll up in a shitbox and I'd be willing to help out

Well he wouldn't budge from $400 and I wouldn't from $300 they were a little more used then he let on both hubs needed service and the rear one had a tiny bit of shake n tumble going on.

Bummer. I would guess they have more than 100 miles then. Mine have way more than that and are perfect. Good luck on the next set.

Send 5 different emails offering $200 from 5 different email addresses. Then, the day after hit him up one more time at $300

You got lucky. You have to true those things with a 2x4 and a mallet. If you're that rough riding that you're breaking spokes, you probably need to re-evaluate either your spoked wheelset choice or your riding style. Maybe you need a new wheel builder. Properly-tensioned spokes don't just "break" while riding along.
At any rate, if you're breaking properly-tensioned spokes, you'll most likely break the carbon fiber ones, too.

Mr Bender, that is solid advice from Richard right there. He is giving authentic words of wisdom as he spent many years as a wheel builder and I trust him to know of that which he speaks.
