I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving, it was cool for me.

This will be a very Special TOPIC:
It's the Holidays and I gonna dig deep to get in the good Stuff.
This is the Seventh or Eighth Major Topic I've posted on OS-BMX and the Replies posted by the members has overwhelmed all my expectations in the Last Two Months.

OS-BMX WAS A WARM WELCOME FROM EVERYBODY TOGETHER:
The members really give Total Support to my Topics so WE invite the new members to join us for Some of the finest Historical and Personal Discussions that any group of OS-BMX members can have together as a TEAM. This allowed me in no time at all to learn some of the Real OS-BMX Members and that's what it's all about.

Ya know, 6 months ago i never thought i'd bother getting a Diamond back. Don't know why, guess i kinda thought they weren't on the same level as JMC / SE.

Then out of the blue, a friend sold me his 81 DB for $50 that he had, had sitting in his yard for the last 20 years. I wasn't overly fussed about it (it "was" in very poor condition) Then Sandy goes posting all his cool stuff like this and STR-1 showed me how to polish one up to near new....next thing, i'm hooked. The Diamond Back i have will sit proudly on my imaginary 8 lane starting gate (my top 8) hopefully after christmas, i'll post the resto pics..... thanks for the wake up call guys...

Can anyone tell me what my DB is? it came with Blue alloy compments, mostly sugino with the DB logo on it. 3 peice alloy cranks and alloy bars, araya rims, suzue hubs, dia comp 890 brakes....

Ozdirtboy,
I want to thank you for proving it does work. it's the effort of members who want to make OS-BMX the one everybody talks about as the Place that brings Real OS-BMX to Life.

The DB you Restored from 24 years ago is almost a miracle in itself, I know when I started a clean/polish on a chromed DB Frame it was hard to stop once I saw how awesome it restored. You should be very proud of the original decals intact, you learned well and I wish you could let others know how it feels inside once you finish it.

You said it:
"THANKS FOR THE WAKE UP CALL GUYS!"
Your welcome.

I Love this Site,

Ozdirtboy,
Congratulations you have a winner. The 1981 DB Frame is possibly the last production of the Pre Black/Silver DB units from Japan.
I would like to see the fork to help you further and better shots of decals please.

The ser# 1G1006 tells you it's the SIXTH unit of this Specific Production run.
The Parts tell me it's the 3-piece alloy Kit Blue.

I'll post more after I see the fork and decals.
Thanks for Sharing,
SE Finkelman

Here's an AD from a BMX magazine of the Wheels N Things Mail Order.
We sold DB Bike and parts World Wide, there was over 1,750 BMX Parts/Gear in our Catalog. I remember we received over 60 request a day for our Mail Catalog, you wouldn't believe how many thousands of Stickers we sold.
Enjoy,
SE Finkelman

This shows how tough the competition was between Two of the Greatest Teams in the World Torker and SE Racing.
Enjoy,
SE Finkelman

Can you believe almost every BMX Magazine Published had mispelled EDDY Kings's first Name at one time or another in the 1970's and 1980's.
They really had no problem shooting him in the Racing Mode.

The reason i love this site is simply because it feels like a bunch of guys sitting round a campfire, beer in one hand talking about the good old times.....

I think I've hijacked your thread too much already, so i'll post a new topic over in Wrenching and Building and would appreciate if you could take a look

Ozdirtboy,
Bruce Thanks for sharing why you think this is a super site, yoiu put it perfectly.

I'd rather you post the info on your DB's progress in my Topic so I and others can follow along, I think your addition was totally inline with my Topics and if it wasn't I'd let you know.

The other reason is my Topics are moved/saved in the BMX Gallery for members to reference in the future, that was a deal I made with OS-BMX I spend quite a bit of time on the images posted and hate when they're discarded.

I want my threads with posts like yours so new/future members can see that the OS-BMX system really works and we have fun.
Thanks again,
SE Finkelman

Here's an old AD from the 1970's, the Rider is the Oldest BMX National Racer.
Coy Hudson started racing in 1973 on a chopped up girls Schwinn Sting Ray.
Coy and Dale his Brother were instrumental in the designing of the Torker in 1976.

3rd Beer-aka-3RD GEAR,
I want to thank you for the Post of me in the CenterFold of BMXA Tubo Test.
The Test was done at Mux's Home Track Ascot also one of my Favorites in the 1970's.

You know it was one of the best Parts of my job DB tech Consultant to all Media, I was the last point to print. When I did BMXA it was the easiest Oz and Wendy took care of the photo's with Harry and Eddy usually in control of that part they new what I wanted. I would meet with Len Weed to do inside info (Special effects) and the Technical stuff behind the product.

We were a really good team Harry, Eddy, Sandy, they took care of the Public image of DB and I took care of the news media in the Bike Industry. I think it's great to see BMX still remembers the Accomplishments we all did in that Era.
Thanks for the Memories.
Enjoy,
SE Finkelman

Ozdirtboy,
Bruce that's good for what you paid, new spokes for the wheels and a few things here and there.

Can't really see the fork what kind is it? The fork is Bent back like it hit a wall or something, if you get a closer shot I might be able to help you straighten it if you haven't already?

The best part is you'll have a before and after picture that's a class act.
Thanks for Sharing this with all the members,
