To all who have undertaken this task, hats off to you! To those who have given me advice on what needed to be done, a big THANKS! I pulled these guys out of the box and my jaw dropped. So this is what 15 years of being stowed away in a dungeon type storage room can do to a pair of these Tuffs!

I ran them undersome hot water for a while. Nothing! Well I guess I got to,but what about the time that's involved in such an undertaking, time which at this time I have little of. Ok we'll see what happens! So off to the store I guy to buy some fine grain sandpaper! So here I am with 800 grit to 0000 grit and some hot water.Ok that worked a little after about 2 hours of grinding!!!!! I call up my bro's Newguy and Radmeon, they suggested Softscrub and Blecht White. I tryed the Blecht White but found I still had to grinddown which ment TIME. This was the result.

Then I took up Newguys advice on some softscrub. Looked around, but didn't have any in the house. What about Liquid Cascade, I tryed that on the bathroom tub.Ok this works just like softscrub and it's cheaper to. THAT WAS THA BANG! I set the wheels in the tub and dowsed them down all the way so that I could not see any surface part of the wheels. I left them in there overnight, and came back to rinse them out under some hot water.BANG!,PRESTO! Resurrection WHITE ALL THE WAY! :27: :55:

I'm wondering if I put the Cascade on as my first step I probably could have avoided the other steps cause I mean the stuff that I was grinding on to get off just wouldn't come off! The stain and mildew on these wheels were just sickening and hard as all get out to get off. Here's what I used.

How long did you leave the bleach white on? I leave it on overnight and then give a good washing. Sometimes, it takes two applications. It looks like you've found a better way, bro. Those look sweet!!! Great job!

Radmeon, hey bro I sprayed it on the wheels and waited for about 15 minutes came back to wipe it off, nothing so I sprayed it them down again and waited for about half an hour.Came back sprayed them down again and started using the fine grain sandpaper with just a little effect.

Brian just a little clarification from when I talked with you the other night. I took the wheels after I could get little results from anything else and stuck them in an Empty bathtub I didn't want the Cascade dripping all over the floor after I had drenched them down with it. I came back into the bathroom and turned the shower on to rinse off all the Cascade that was left on the wheels overnight. :cat:

I bought an old 80 model goose with original yellow tuff IIs and some clown had no respect 4 them and ran black brake pads. I started with 1000 grit and finished them off with 1500 .they came up like they had just been wheeled out of the showroom!!!
When i rubbed them down i used warm soappy water to minamize friction .I just wish i had some pics 4 you guys (maybe soon) when i get my act together. best of all it cost me stuff all :22:

Hope what I have done helps you all as it has helped me. There was another topic posted on this concerning cleaning Tuff Wheels. The topic by BartWatchItDude on How to restore an old pair of Tuffs
http://69.94.37.234/...hp?showtopic=56
or about 3/4ths down on Page 4 of restoring and restoration you will be able to find what everybody has posted. In there they talk about bleach etc.the applying of Vitamin E really seemed interesting.
