  1. Race Inc built first gen Titans?????

    Posted 15 Feb 2013

These pics are in a for sale post over at the M currently (pics and frame owned by Tortuga). I was looking at the for sale thread as ole boy has some cool cruiser frames for sale and I have a soft spot for Titans for whatever reason. He has a beautiful 24" chromoly Titan set for sale. I first noticed the fork dropouts and bologna cut and thought to myself that they were identical to Race Inc which didnt surprise me as I had already thought that about the second gen forks on the two Titan 20" frames I owned. Then it struck me that the brake bridge was also identical to a Race Inc RM2 bridge. As I started looking closer, the whole rear triangle tubing resembles the RM2 especially where it meets the bb shell. Then I moved on to the dropout pics and was like, Damn, even the drops look Race Inc and Ill be a son of a bitch, when I got to the right rear dropout pic, the frame has a RMxxxx serial number on it which is a Race Inc RM2 chromoly frame serial. When did Titan start?? Its obvious now that Bastian built the first gen Titans. At least the 24". The strange thing to me, since he decaled every variation of every brand of frame he was building as a Race Inc at some point, I.E. FMF, Foilers, Laguna, even loop PK's as Race Incs plus copying the loop PK and Floval frames but in round tube frames, why is it that he never offered a RM24 to go with the RA24, using this Titan minus the two added support bars? Anyone have any info on a Titan/ Bastian contract??

*** Also notice that both rear dropouts have a different RM serial on them. Outside of the right and inside of the left.
  2. Comin home to Daddy

As I mentioned awhile back I chased this green Quad for five or six years, foaming at the mouth for it but PJ wouldnt let go of it :) When he finally decided to sell it, I jumped on it. When things got weird last year I held on to this frameset till the very end. It was the last thing I sold and it pained me greatly. WELLLLLLL Jake has very graciously agreed to sell it back to me since its tax time :) I cant wait to hold it and love it and kiss it and........ Thanks Jake. You rule. :rawks:
