Not everyday do you get to see the P.O.T.U.S. land at LAX, it was pretty cool....

1976 Yamaha Motobike

This was sent to me as a gift by a very, VERY good friend. I'll let the pics do the talking but I think the only parts not original are the grips and possibly the the pedals though they are dated 76. Have no idea if the tires are original or not but they are old and cracked. I have NO room for this so I don't know what to do with it. I CANNOT sell it as it's a gift but I gotta find a place for this, my apt is just too small and cramped.
This is pretty cool none the less....

This stuff I got from Snorton...7 new in bag/NOS Shimano MX front hubs, 1 long and 1 short cage 9/16 pedals, bought just for the cages, 6 Kenda 1.75 tires, 1 complete Ashtabula 79 dated crank and a 72 dated diamond crank in black, I thought these were unusual as I've never seen them, maybe they are powder coated? Factory? One off? They looked new.

These are what the tires look like, I bought 3 from Snorton in Oct. and they have a great tread and look so I was hoping he had more, I grabbed what he had left.
Snorton had TONS of stuff and it was like chumming the water, guys were hauling away huge amounts of stuff.
Then around 11:30 or so I found these....

A VERY decent rider Carlisle Aggressor and the lame looking wheel has a Shimano MX high flange coaster hub, both from the same seller for $15.00, the Aggressor was under a pile of tires and it just happened to catch my eye after I bought the wheel. -

I've never seen another one so I was wondering if this was a rare tire or common. The tread is almost the same as the 2.125 tire. Just curious. -
A "grail" of sorts

For years I was hoping I would find one of these rims as I had one around 75/76 or so. The one I had was laced to a Bendix hub with 120 gauge spokes. Last week I saw a post by Contender(Andy) mentioning that he had some rims that Sodbuster ID'd as Akronts. A few emails and a drive up to his house later I got this rim Wed. and laced it up today. For some reason it was a real bitch to build but it's ready to roll. Thanks Contender and also I owe Sodbuster a bit of thanks as he got the ball, or wheel, rolling. Now to figure what bike it's going on....
