Posts I've Made

  1. In Topic: Don't call your friends to vote for you...

    Posted 27 Dec 2007

I didn't have time to read all 7 pages, but based on page 1 I'd say that brand new members (since start of contest) votes don't count.
I also want to thank the 2 others (I have 3 votes now!) that liked my Quad.. I don't have another bike for next year, probably will not have another ever as I'm trying to restore and old VW bus and my wife is mad. I can only ride one bike at a time.

Anyway, the votes I don't think reflect the real vote and maybe on pages 2-7 that was already addressed.

It was fun to finish my bike and post it and like that there are others out there that are keeping the old BMX bikes looking like they once did.

    1983 SE Freestyle Quadangle

Freestyle SE Quadangle Frame - powder coated same as original with new factory stickers
Standing Gear Freestyle Fork - original finish with new stickers
Frame pads - replica (hard to find original Quad pads..)
    GT Post
    Kuwahara Seat
    Original Skyway Tuff 2's
    New Tioga Comp III's
New Redline Flight Cranks 180mm with Sealed bottom bracket
    New Platform pedals (reflector removed)
Dia Compe MX brakes with 2 finger levor (found in England of all places)
    DK stem (original)
    CW bars (orignial)
    ODI grips

Note built in foot stands @ top of fork and rear bars welded to frame (near rear hub) which were unique to the freestyle quadangle frame and standing gear fork.

I was looking for something unrelated on ebay and found the frame, fork, stem, bars and wheels up for auction. The auction had a few minutes left so it was one of those impulse buys. The bike was pretty rough then but is now back to the shape of my SE Quad from 1984. Although I raced a little in the 80's I was always partial to freestyle and riding ramps. My neighbors were entertained to see my fat (old) butt busting 360's in the suburbs where I now live.. My 4 year old son has already expressed: "I want that!". (he can build his own) ;-o

Thanks for checking it out and sorry for the indoor pics, we have snow in Denver right now.
