  1. Not sure what to do with my old bike.

1st a little history about my prized possession:

Here's a picture I took today of my original Diamond Back Silver Streak that I got new on Xmas day 1983:

    Here it is on Dec 25th & 26 1983:

Soon after I received the bike, I started changing the parts on it, as most of us did B.I.T.D. One of my main bits of inspiration was Mike Domingues's Haro Freestyler on the cover of the Feb 1984 BMXplus issue.

Thankfully I was always way skinny and never beat un-neccesarrily on my bike, so it's in great condition.

    Now here's my dilemma:
The bike stayed in it's "white tuffs" form pretty much from 1985 until about 10 years ago, when I decided to embark on the process of changing it back to how it looked on xmas day 1983.
The way it sits now is in the top picture that I snapped today... just as it looked on xmas day 1983. The majority of the parts are my originals from 1983. I did loose some parts over the years, so a few years ago I purchased another Silver streak on ebay that had seen better days, and just grabbed the seat post and wheels off of it, and sold the rest. I also purchased a NOS seat, chain, brake lever, grips and TT pad. Everything else was in my parents garage. (The black comp III's, sr clamp, 890 brake, bars stem, pedals, sprocket, and manual are my OG ones)

I also have ALL of the parts from the pictures where it has the white tuffs, except the zeronine number plate (although I still have the "superfast" prism sticker that was on it!)

I know the bike looks great as it sits now, and has the OG stock thing going for it, but I feel that - immediately after getting my bike in '83, I started changing it, and all those changes are part of the history that makes the bike "my" bike, and not just another DB silver streak.
Soooo, a big part of me wants to change it all back to the blue and white parts, as that's how it looked during all those years of me riding and cherishing her.

I'm kinda struggling with the decision, as it does look sooo nice the way it sits now, yet having all my OG blue and white parts strewn about the house. Since I value the opinions of the membership here, I thought I ask for some feedback. Thanks in advance for your considerations!
