I have always appreciated the fact that it was all original...including the roughten old tires
( not Diamond backs )
everything is original to the Bike, except the Sleeve's on the Grab-On's ( I replaced the sleeves tonight )
and the new tires.
DB stem....DB Cranks....Kashi DB Saddle...
DC 890 " dated 09/80 "
DC Cable " dated 07/80 "
Double Drop-out Front forks.
Chromoly Front -to- back
Araya 7X's with High Suzues
Aluminum Bars ?????
MX-2 Grips ( OG grip...NOS sleeves )
OG Pad set.

Posted 23 Jun 2009To most people...this is a heap!!!
I myself Love "All things bicycle"
when I saw this, freshly pulled from a filthy Garage, covered in grunge,
and on sale for a whopping $10.oo I couldn't grab it quick enough!!!!
During the late 70's early 80's, their was a transition of 26 BMX and mountain bikes..their was a point when the 2
crossed paths...shared parts...and then, split.
This is an Early 80's Alegro Mountain Bike.
Alegro made high end road bikes ....and pretty nice first generation mountain bikes.
You will NEVER see junk parts on an Alegro.
....most all where outfitted with higher end Japan made parts .........that where also used on BMX and 26 BMX.
....as well....a lot of the same parts where used often on Klunkers and custom builds
( like the Suntour / over bar / Alloy Thumb shifters / SR lePrade seat post / Sugino GT cranks )
I'll post a picture as well, after I clean it all up.
Oh yes!!!!!....those ARE Black Araya 7X Shinny Sides.... 26 by 1.75 with the Old Araya text.
Posted 16 Jun 2009I did a search...and found nothing.
What about " The Skid " ????......
In the times we are in, where NOS Tires, and restorations , result in beautiful Bike and builds that
replicate the exact 2 wheel beauty we longed for, and owned as Kids.
And when we got em, we Rode em...HARD.
we would all be telling a Lie, if we said "I don't like to skid"
I layed down a 64 foot patch ( my son and I measured it ) on my Sons Haro F2.
post em up boys!!
lay down that rubba' baby!!
