Summer Slam VI - Flatland Session

This is the first time since BP has been putting on this awesome gathering(i'm talking back whenSummer Slam was Fall Brawl!) that I have had SUCH a great time. A few of you guys I have known since I was 13 (brian britt, lil jon, mike(akcuda) to name a few), and I didn't realize that until brian b pointed it out to me last night. I wouldn't trade these friendships for the world. I get to see you guys once a year(twice if I'm lucky) and yet you always seem to remember everything about me. You guys are pretty much an extended family and you guys are all amazing. I look forward to many more Summer Slams(and maybe even a few rides like in philly or jersey city) to make many more memories!

So I know in the last 6 months I haven't been on here much, and I miss you all so much!
But the reason I haven't been on is a good one... I've been focusing a lot on school and doing well, and damn have I been rewarded for it.
Between getting around $4,500 in scholarship money, and the New Jersey STARS program (they pay for your tuition if you graduate top 15% of your class), I'm very happy to announce that tonight, at 6:30 PM, I will officially be done with highschool.

I just thought it'd be interesting to share with all of you guys, considering i haven't been here in such a long time.
But now that school is over, I'll be back on more & hopefully get to talk to & meet more people!!

YAY!!!

Yeah, I haven't been on in a while.

But now that soccer season is over, I'll be back, haha. :]


So today, December 4th, I went to a board of ed meeting for my school. The meeting was a "special" meeting regarding a case about my soccer coach. The case being that accusations had been made against him that he tried to touch a girl on our team in inappropriate places when he saw her at the hospital one night.
The girl that made the supposed accusations is a freshman at my school, and was recruited by a number of us, including my coach, to play on the team.

You have to understand something about my school. I go to a technical highschool... this means that I spend almost half of my day in a shop, learning a trade. We have COUNTLESS numbers of shops at my school; I'm currently studying CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) and Architectural Design. Being that my school is more focused on education, we don't exactly have a TOP NOTCH sports team for any of our sports, so we recruit anyone that we can.

So the accusation goes like this, my soccer coach, mr. g, was taking his brother to the hospital one night & was in the waiting room. The girl, we will call her C, was also at the hospital in te waiting room. Now naturally, when you see someone you know in a waiting room, you generally go up and ask them why they're there. So Mr. G did just that. He asked her what was wrong & she told him whatever had happened.

The next week, C got EXTREMELY mad at Mr. G because he wouldn't put her in the game because we were actually doing pretty well & C wasn't one of the BEST players on the team. She apparently took this the wrong way, saying that he hated her & stuff like that. Well, she decided to go around spreading rumors that Mr. G was trying to touch her in inappropriate places in the waiting room & that he wouldn't stop when she told him to. The only problem with this story is that a girl from the soccer team was there, and said nothing happened other than him trying to talk to her.

So C went to the administration at the school and told them that story. They suspended my soccer coach (and he is also the automotive services teacher), with pay until they further investigated it. There was a meeting held back in November for the public to discuss with teh board of ed about how they felt. I was there, along with other girls from the team & the kids from his shop. At the end of the meeting, the board of ed t old us they needed more time & said there'd be another meeting in December to decide if G got to stay or not.

So, at this meeting tonight, countless numbers of students, teachers, athletes & parents got up & spoke about this teacher/coach... and nothing but GOOD REMARKS were said about this man.

But you know what? They had their minds made up when they walked through the doors.

My coach got fired.

The public spoke for almost 2 hours, saying how this isn't right.

It completly FLOORS me that they go by ONE 14 YEAR OLD GIRLS WORD... and fire this man.

It is completely and utterly RIDICULOUS that this man got fired.

I was lookin' through the forums & a random thought popped into my head.



Do any of you guys ever think if there will be a 'next generation' of vintage bmx collectors?

I'm 16...
listening & reading the stories you guys tell & looking at the pics & the bikes from BITD... it's so sick.
And then I think... 'I wonder if I'll ever have stories like that to share' & I'm sure I may..



but do any of you ever stop & think that kids my age (teens or younger), will be just like this in 15 or 20 years?

I just got done watching this REALLY good movie (personally)


it's called Across The Universe.
It's got all Beatles music in it, and it was amazing.

It's kind of a hard movie to explain, 'cause it kind of jumps all over the place.



Personally, I thought it was amazing. :]
