In Topic: i AM F'ED ANY SUGGESTIONS?
Posted 5 Mar 2009
When I saw the Crusader cranks at the worlds in holland 97, they all came with plastic bottom brackets (aka no bearings) I am guessing this BB is a much later one to help those who bought the original cranks and couldnt get them to work (as they wouldnt spin) -

I am sorry you feel that way.
Just for the record I have been a member for even longer than you.
HA HA HA HA (gets great joy in highlighting that due to your last reply)
(For some reason all my posts I had here previously have disappeared.)
In regards to entering BOTY, I decided to do this after receiving an email inviting me to enter.
Originally my plan was to enter RAD as I had forgotten that OS did a bike of the year contest also.
But after getting that email I thought, why not try my luck on both as it will be interesting to see.
Let me clear up 1 thing, my previous post was not directed at you individually.
I hadn't spent long enough looking at all the posts to notice your bike even had a chain missing.
Anyway, Next time please PM me instead of posting any paranoid disillusions so I can reply directly and set you straight on your mistakes.
This way we can try and keep things factual rather than have you making delusional false claims.
Just for the record.

Ant, on Dec 20 2007, 08:01 PM, said:incorrect, if you conceder 1 post that contained the defining function of a bike as dictational then there must be something deeper here. 5 statements and 4 are wrong Not a good track record.has alot to say about how things should be ran around here!
All this because of chain envy ....

To all the other members, please accept my deepest apologies for this post.
Sometimes you have to reply which can fuel the fire when someone makes false claims.
EDIT : Dear OS members, I have just read the response from "Ant" (below). Rather than make another post and keep this dragging on, it seems smarter just to add this small edit here. I realize it is futile to have a dispute with this member since no matter how many of his claims I prove wrong, he comes up with more self invented fictional claims. Which makes me wonder what his mental age and whether its a chemical imbalance that he suffers from. Obviously it would be wrong of me to try and make myself look better against someone with special needs. So please accept my apologies for this escalation. Please don't let this disagreement that I have had with him affect your votes for him, as its obvious that these social issues he suffers from is something that is beyond his control.
edit edit : point proven (again) -

My only beef would be that if a bike is entered into a contest then it has to have a chain on the bike otherwise it cannot function as a drivetrain and is theoretically not a bike.
In regards to oldschoolpk's question "Who wins???????" thats up to the voters and you can never really judge a situation like that. If you think spending X ammount of cash at the photographers is going to help convince fellow members to vote for you and you are willing to spend the cash then it is no different that taking your bike to a bike shop and getting it professionally cleaned.
What I am saying is that yes you may be able to do things to help you gain browny points in a contest, but you need to remember that at present its voted on by anyone who's a member so their is no rules or criteria to how you vote / points etc. Which is the fairest way to vote (IMHO). As this way you need to appeal to everyones idea of beauty and there is nothing that can define that as everyones idea of this is different. -

Hi Guys,
thanks for all your comments.
I am really happy that you guys enjoyed the advert/spoof.
With the comments I have received, I can tell you now that your comments have meant much more to me than if I had won the contest.
You guys are great and I really appreciate the feedback.
Cheers
