Posted 11 Dec 2012Gents,
I have just acquired my next build, still in its original covering and wearing its original decals, it has what looks like a "bike shop" decal from Im guessing where it was purchased, I thought some of you may be able to she'd some light on where it hollers from,
Posted 17 Oct 2012Hey all,
I am trying to find a bit more info on VDC manufacturing, in particular the Changa. I thought I would throw it to you guys to see if any one has any idea on production numbers, a tough ball park figure would suffice, any idea if it was in the hundreds or in the thousands?
Reason I ask is I had a mate over the other night and he was sitting on mine asking a few questions, one of which was "how many were made?" ......I obviously could not answer him, so hopped on my lappy and emailed Voris to no avail, he had no idea either.
I'm sure Aggy or Flanel could shed some light....
Here is my scoot still wearing its original chrome that got my mate thinking.
Posted 8 Apr 2012Gents,
I am wondering what sizes the JMC post came in, when i say size I am referring to length.......
I see quiet a few 9" post about and i was always under the impression that Jim never manufactured a 9" post (although I am most probably wrong.....) I know he did the 16" version but what other lengths did they come in, pics would help too.......
Posted 13 Mar 2012What would you do? and I asked this with sincerity
With all of this survivor talk it got me thinking.......
My last build was an 84 era bike still sporting its original coverings (chrome) that were in cracking shape, to be brutally honest the chrome is nearly perfect, its obviously had an easy life......long story short I had access to all era correct parts that were (mainly)nos hence I bolted it together and am pleased with the result.....
I understand the concept of "survivor(s)" and could not bring myself to pull one down, but do you "build" survivors? I see it over and over again, "built with survivor parts" etc.....
Hypothetically speaking if you had access to new (era correct) parts and used/worn parts (keep in mind the frame/fork condition is flawless) what would you utilise?
I am not trying to ruffle feathers, just honest opinions.....
Posted 26 Oct 2011G'day All,
Another Aussie addicted to old BMX's, I am a child of the 80's hence where my passion lies.
I have picked up a lot of knowledge and ideas perusing this site, I take my hat off to you all, cheers.
I finished this a month or so back and although some of you may have seen it I thought I would share.
