  2. Outdoor Screening of Birth of Big Air w/ Mat and Spike

    Posted 13 Jun 2010

We have a little film festival here in OKC every year called the Dead Center Film Festival. This year they kicked it off with an outdoor screening of "the Birth of Big Air". Mat Hoffman and Spike Jonez introduced the film and had a Q&A session after the film. We didn't get there early enough to get pictures from the demo before the film, but it was some of the guys from the Mat Hoffman Action Sports Park that brought some ramps out. Those guys are great riders and I'm sorry I missed it. Anyway, I did get pics from the film showing.

I wish I had more pics. Mat dove back into the bar next to the film right after the show, so I didn't get any after show pics. He was being mobbed anyway. There were a ton of people there. Lots of old faces. Wish ya'll coulda been there. :)
  3. How do you read Tuff Wheel date codes?

    Posted 15 Dec 2009

I have a set of Tuff I's I'm trying to figure out the date on them. I searched the Mag database with no luck. I then tried the search in Restoring and in Trackside for "tuff date" and got no results or an error or something. Anyway, they are in great shape. Almost too great, so I thought I would try to figure out the date. The seller said they are from 1980. They have patent stamps. The rear is B226 12-7. The front is hard to read, but I think it says A244 11-7. If anyone can help me out with this I'd appreciate it.
  4. Oldschool BMX Museum at ABA Grands Tulsa, OK Expo Center

    Posted 27 Nov 2009

There's an oldschool BMX museum at the ABA Grand Nationals in Tulsa, OK at the Expo Center. It's on the west side of the entrance this year. It was on the east side previous years if you've been there before. I'll be going up tomorrow and taking some pictures, but if you're in the neighborhood you should definitely come by today, tomorrow or Sunday. Saturday is defintely the best day to go, but Dewabo and Tommy osrlracer are there all weekend and Bret BMX2112 will be there on Sunday, so come on down. Here's some pics from 2005.
