shipping bikes - discussing the options
Spur replied to S.Brothers's topic in Riding, Research & Collecting
I have used shipbikes for multiple completes when going on vacations and what not and are hand down one of the cheapest ways to go. I have shipped a frame or two through them as well. I think they have a deal with Fedex and hence the discounted rate. -
Fantastic pick-up!

Sigh...

I absolutely never get sick of seeing new projects from you Jon. That is perfect.

Auburn BMX Frame Evolution/ "Holy Grail" Frames
Spur replied to AuburnHuff's topic in Riding, Research & Collecting
Origins, nothing better than knowledge being dropped with the actual artifacts as supporting documentation. Fantastic stuff. That tubular Tri-Link is a trip! -
Jon that is next level. I love it. It's all in the details.
-
Cool acquisition Steve. Nothing better than picking up a rig with some history to it.

You don't see many painted frames pop up. In fact I hadn't a whole lot of them until recently. Nice find, odds are that is a brazed frame.

Got word from Steve last evening, total bummer. -
Great article. We have been right the entire time, didn't need that article to validate it, but it does affirm what a few of us have been saying forever.

Looks like a wheelie machine!

That is just what S&M did before they could get a thicker 1 piece drop out.

Tasteful and appropriately built. Nice to see a non-typical drive train as well, favorite part of the bike. Excellent work sir.

Look like modern era SE take offs to me. No way those are slams, welds look like shit in the last pic.

I wouldn't use that list, not sure if he forgot the order but I have a 99 catalog with the single checkered flag version in the picture. Plus the earliest Challenger bars were sans a decal entirely, just the FMF font S&M logo. Gay bars were stickered up the same way early on as well.

Yes. I am still waiting for someone to post pics with a Motomag/Aerospeed combo because you know someone out there thinks that would be hot like fire.

I missed the brake cable mod, that is so trick.

Benny really does top notch work, I love seeing the road bike frame sets he has brought back to life as well. Infinitely better than sending frames out for horrible powdercoat!

Someone's dad was a car mechanic or a maintenance tech. The quarter end caps rock!

That was not what I was getting at. We have talked offline a lot about the show and its cancellation and was in total agreement. My point was that the same mentality is spilling over into the Society FB page. Lots of powder....
