  1. I used to know how to ID them, and I know it's an easy one!!! I have an Early Powerlite No Gusset Butterfly rear Brake Bridge the serial number is stamped on the rear brake bridge 02381 I wanna clean this Frame and fork up..and sell it.. ...but i think I better know WTF I have first I thought( if memory serves me correct ) that it's an 82 ??????????????????? BUT, I want a definate answer....from a Pro ============================= Thanks in advance for the help, peace, Kev.
  2. I have an old Powerlite that was given to my son years ago, by a buddy of mine who bought it back in the 80s. He passed away last year and I want to give it to his son so it's back in his family. Just not sure the year. The only numbers I can find are on the rear brake bridge that are 00202. I am assuming that's the serial number. Any ideas?
  3. Just finished this one up tonight. Mark Darcy gave me this plate years ago, it is one of his original plates. I found it in a stack of stuff in my office & had to build it! 1979 Powerlite built with mostly original finishes, I added the downtube decals. Great original paint on the frame & fork. Powerbend handlebars mounted to a 6 bolt MCS stem, vinyl pads, Shimano Tourney brake, lever & cable guides, Koolstop brake pads, fluted alloy seat post, Suntour seat clamp, Grand Prix saddle, Takagi Tourney cranks, KKT rat traps, Black low/high flange Sunshine hubs, Araya 7Cs, Suntour Maeda freewheel & Cheng Shin C-183 fat skinny tires. Enjoy! I will change the grips and seat clamp when I find something more to my liking.
  4. Yesterday I got a text from a friend (the husband of my wife’s longtime friend). I didnt even know he knew, but he was wishing me a happy birthday. Then came this pic in front of my house. He said I could have it. Its his old bike he found on the side of his mothers house. I’m stoked. its a 1991 Powerlite P51...rusted but cool and complete. He thinks it’s “gone” and for me to do whatever with it but I might clean it all up and give it back to him He’ll trip
  5. I haven't been on here much this year and sadly haven't been riding as much as I'd like. I actually started 2018 thinking this might be the year I wouldn't buy or build any bikes. Well, as you can see from this post, that didn't really work out as planned. Here is a quick run down of the bikes. The GT and Cook Bros. were bought complete and I haven't done much with them. The red Race Inc I bought complete with all red parts. The Red Race Inc is OG anno with new stickers. I had the blue Race Inc already with all blue parts, so I decided to switch the parts on both bikes to have a blue on red and red on blue Race Inc. The Powerlite 26 was bought complete from a friend of mine and I switched out the pedals, bars, and seat post (seat post was a JMC, so I put it on my JMC). The red Powerlite I've had for several years, but finally sourced all the gold parts to build a replica of the one I had as a kid.
