Pad Foam

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know where to get some white or colored pad foam?

I can find grey, but it won't look too good under the white :(

Let me know if you have a lead I'm still looking and will post if I find the goods.

...

Thanks ahead of time.

I am almost positive that I saw white, black, and blue used for water pipes at Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Menards, or Lowes. I just can't remember which one. They have different sizes also. I bought some grey/black for the bars and a PK frame.

What do you need? I have a bunch of NOS Cal lite pads that i am not using. You could throw away the outer part.

Now you just need an extruder

Yeah... that's a bit of a stretch for sure.

Hakmazter, thanks for the offer. I will use grey/charcoal for the blue and red, then I'll use white for the others I think.

Guys,i wonder if you can help me out??

I've been trying to source the material that pads outer skin is made from but i've had no luck.Do you guys know what its called? I cant get anywhere?

I've decided to start making my old pads as i need a red letter diamond back set for a streak and an se set and a Raleigh Team burner set and collectively it would cost me a FORTUNE to buy Nos.

I just cant get any help with materials and where to buy.

it seems to be a closely guarded secret over here in the uk.

Any help would be V gratefully recieved.

thanks

Sam

Sam, most of the pads from to 80's were nylon and screen printed on.

You can use standard 320 type screens, but Nylon has special ink requirements. It needs to be "UV" cured most often and curing machines can be in the 1,000$'s. There are some inks that are air dry, but get spendy.

Check into the availablility of both of those before embarking on your journey as it can get frustrating.

Best of luck!

:32: Thanks for that,i am ordering as we speak.Lots of us over here in the uk want to start making pads as they are just too damn expensive to buy now,nos or 2nd hand.

Someone should start repro-ing them as a business....they would get trade.

Thanks again
