Dyno's Post Em If You Got Em

Recommended Posts

There used to be a thread here that had a bunch of the older D series and other early Compes but I think it is gone. Here is my 87, once my 89 is together I will post it too.

Built just like the spec sheet below except for the tech 7 levers.

My 89 almost done. Still need to add decals, get some A'ME Rounds, put the Rad Kaps on, and make some final adjustments. This is my first build so still working out some of the kinks.

^^^ Wow, love the red, it should look great with those 89 stickers.

The red spokes just set it off...

I'd ride that in a heartbeat. (and I don't say that often!)

Thanks man, I am pretty stoked about the way it came out. Gotta thank Lou for the paint and retrodave for building up the wheels. The red spokes do give it that little extra!

Yeah, going to get those decals on this weekend, want to take my time and make sure I get them on right.

That red one is awesome!! Nice collection, guys. Do you have any tips on where to get decals? I scour you-know-where a lot and find nothing.

Some of my junk:

'93 Slammer Pro F/S tour team (first "real" bike) - stolen once. Coming back to life real soon (with a lot of NOS parts and without that junk seatpost):

The only Detour pic I have: the stem that came with a pile of a Detour I bought many many years ago. Bent quill, and someone used it as a swedge. Prior to machining / finishing....

Hey, does anyone have any NOS/repop plastic cable blocks...it fits in that little "step" on that stem, and the front brake cable goes through it....you know what I'm talking about right? I need one in white.

I dunno, DYNO's just don't do anything for me. It kinda reminds me of the beginning of the end for quality GT products.

Yes'er the lady was a school teacher who was about to move, she was saving them for her grand kids but the move forced her to sell. She was a real nice lady, wanted them to go to some one who would take care of them. They ride smoth for their age, and all they need are tires. As much as I dont want to, I think these are staying all original, maybe powder coated once I find replacement decals. And No, my boys are 4 and 3, still on traing wheels. Gives us asomthing productve to do for a few years.
