Johnnyringo
neato. whats your step by step procedure for posting an entire mag from scan to upload....just curious. thanks. I scan each page separately at 200dpi and save them as hi-res .jpg files. Once scanning is complete, I import the scans two at a time into Discreet Combustion where I have a template set up for the two-page layout. Once the pages are aligned and I've done any cleaning up that needs to be done, I save the frame as a medium-res .jpg. Once all the layouts are complete, I load them into the OpenOffice text document editor (again into a preset template) then export it as a print optimized .pdf file. Then it's just a simple matter of uploading it to web. That is of course a simplified version of the process.

Johnnyringo
Hi Guys, I'm sure some of you have been wondering why there haven't been any new uploads lately. Well I've been working on a new site to house all the previously released mags as well as the many new ones to come. I have also 're-mastered' many of the earlier mags. This means that they are now smaller in file size while retaining the same quality. Many have also had some touch-ups and a few now have pages included that were missing in the original releases. This is the first version of the site and I have a lot of ideas for things I'd like to add, so check it out and let me know what you think: http://oldschoolmags.com/index.html Also now available: the July 1985 issue of BMX Action With thanks to Ray J. Damn I had some trouble with that one, too. I clicked it and it just opened in a window online. I had to right click (I'm on a Mac, so I think that's right.) and then Save As to get it on my machine. All the other mags I've downloaded did it on their own on first click of the link.
COASTY
I have downloaded all of Simons mags and I just right click/save target as. Too easy. I have a bunch of BMX plus' I'm scanning right now too. Early 80's ones.

I'm not sure why you would get an empty page, I've checked the link and there is no problem with it. The first thing I would do is try another browser. If your using Explorer, then download Firefox and try that. Also, if you're using a download manager these can also cause problems. Hope this helps. AGUILAR3
all you have to do is click on a magazine then a year then right click and "save target as" Maybe its just me but did you rename all the files? I started downloading with 1977 then realized I already had that mag downloaded For example: Old file : BMXA_MAY80 New file : BMXA_80_5 example below is an actual dwnload BMXA_7708 BMXA_AUG77

What was happening is after I clicked on the particular issue. Another page opens for looking at or reading the pdf file. At this point the pdf is actually there. You just cant see it. To remedy, I just began to hit the save as icon and it begins to download. Not sure why its so slow, but nevertheless it eventually shows itself after it completely downloads. Next time I will try right clicking and save as, maybe it will get faster. Thanks again guys BMXA_7708 BMXA_AUG77

With the new naming system they will all sit in the correct order which they didn't do before.
