The all ELF Thread

Recommended Posts

Ok here it is, by special request, the all ELF thread. Post up anything and everything ELF. If you have ELF socks post'em. If you have an ELF smock or thong, post it up. I will delete ELF porn so don't bother :). I would like to see this thread exceed the bandwidth allowed by law so do it up.

This is my ELF Double XX.

I'm not sure of the year, but pre-89 I am assuming since it doesnt have lugs.

I want to say 89 was the first year of the Doublecrosses, they were never a lugged frame.

'91-'92 GHP (Greg Hill Products) Frameset -fabricated by ELF to Greg's specs. Check the forks.:OSThumbsUpPeace[1]:

My last race bike, I'll get her rollin' again someday.

I also had a custom powdered green '86 ELF bitd that I was given via a co-factory deal. I remember liking the ride, but I went into a short retirement while in college and gave it away to another racer buddy...

I raced for Elf over here in the UK where they had a pretty stacked team. I'm in the White Bel Mag 4 on the end.

Some people call the doubled up tubes a lugged frame. Yes and no but it was made in 89. Double cross was released in 92. I have a first year frame and its a 92.

For sure, I would call bmxlilbits frame a lugged frame, I was just referring to the Doublecrosses were not of that style. Thanks for the update on the year of release.

Question for the masses on the Doublecross. I read on a Supercross site a few years ago that this frame design might have been stolen from Supercross when they went to ELF to build some prototypes? Any truth to this?

Extra Light Frame

...that's right -I forgot about what ELF stood for!

I seem to remember that ELF originally started out making custom mini's around '83-'84ish.

Hot little rides for the West Coast shorter set......
