It is a Hawk XXL (22" top tube), it is looking beautiful in Candy Apple Red (the pictures do not do the colour justice).

Spur
Snap crackle popsky, despite the exotica of them I have not heard many positive things about durabilty with those who actually raced them. Especially if you weren't a smooth operator. That fork is cool to look at but no way in hell I would have race with them BITD.
cw
Snap crackle popsky, despite the exotica of them I have not heard many positive things about durabilty with those who actually raced them. Especially if you weren't a smooth operator. That fork is cool to look at but no way in hell I would have race with them BITD. mostly i heard them described like monocoques... sounded like a kettle drum. as for the forks, the ones on hondas pro xl are 2nd gen cromo... the first ones were AL just like the frames and apparently exploded on impact. they had massive square tubing at the top(akin to the dt), and tapered down to the dropout. they also had plate gussets on the front and back of the crown. i may have an ad for them somewhere, but i remember that they were out maybe a month before the idea was scrapped. the cromo ones didnt last that long either and are just as rare imo. edited for content Edited October 11, 2008 by cw

The story with the drop outs are nothing more interesting than the previous owner chopped them off. I wasn't too happy with that but what can you do? derektitus
ok i finally found it ok here is the big question i guess are we riding a hawk or a intruder this is in a 1994 mag and i know hawk didnt stop making them in 94. so what gives maybe someone out there know
cw
havent seen that ad til now. there was a late 90s aluminum frame called intruder... except it had oversize round tubes with boxy stays. could be a connection there.
