Day after high school graduation 1984. About to move to Hilton Head, South Carolina for the summer. My bike and spare wheels (Tuff 2s) went with me, of course. I hated selling that bike five years later.

WSA, May 1975. Red posted this pic, it's Red and Lund but it's NOT Lund, may be Ron Haase. I was at this race, sitting up on the fence next to the batting cages with Lund when this race ran. Looks like the "Lund" is running Schwinn exerciser handlebars.

Isn't there a pic taken from another angle that shows you guys watching the race?

I love the photo you posted above of Harry Leary jumping.

That is the first of two "Pro Only" sections

at Scot Breithaupt's epic track, Narler Park in Long Beach, Ca

located in the outer parking lot of the Long Beach, Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The year was either late 1981 or early 1982.

Notice to the left is the late Darlene Leer, marketing director for Bicycle Motocross Action

and the late Sandy Finkelman, team manager for Diamond Back.

There were three basic things i was taught by my pappy.

1. Don't spit in church.

2. Don't scratch in front of your mother. (in those certain places.)

3. AND DON'T PICK YOUR NOSE!!!

I think the # plate you speak of is this one. Grief? It hasn't caused me any at all. It's sits in my spare room like it always has.

Ahhhhh... yes... that California Cup plate... THAT'S the one... I'm about to make a field trip to see the bike that used to be mounted on... very nice piece of history there, Shannon... :OSThumbsUpPeace[1]:

By the way, I wasn't referring to any grief you've suffered over that plate... but some others have voiced a little discomfort... :whistling:
