The "ALL MINI" thread!

Recommended Posts

I have few. Heres there 1 I'm most proud of. 1983 JMC Mini just as it was when it retired from racing. It won both the ABA & NBL Grands. The cranks were made by my dad.

Does anybody know what this micro-mini is?

Titanium forks, Bullseye hubs , it's SO little!!!

those are Cyclecraft forks

Yes, but what is the frame?

My guess would be a Sling - Shot mini but it is missing the cables .... i would not ride that bicycle, at any age.

Here's one I used to have for a bit....

And one I still have.....

:)

Here it is at the moment. Still needs new wheels and chain then it's done. Still all original. No bling on this except the spider (trying to find an original one not polished).

One of my many minigoose projects - but the only one that's finished !

1979 mongoose minigoose CG9 187404

Great minds think alike, compare!

Spooky !

Just need someone to do a yellow one and a blue one for the full set !

Here are better pictures of the two minis I posted above.

You'll notice the Profile-manufactured 1981 Hutch Lil' Hole Shot is quite different now... red components are gone. New are: Campy hubs on Nisi rims / Campy Headset / SunTour pedals / Weinmann brake caliper, lever & cable / Regina BMX-3 chain / DC seat clamp.

I believe the Profile Magnatanium Mini is pretty much the same... save for the crank axle dust caps are metal now instead of the red plastic ones.

Does yours have the coaster tab? Because your SN is right around the time they did away with it.

I was blown away seeing another Torker colors BMXA cover with Jason flyin' on his scoot plus being featured too! Always thought this bike was so cool back then and 25 years later decided to assemble this bike. It took me a few years to find the hub set then it was completed in 2006. Ironically I had an article in the magazine so it was great to relive those days and have a bike for many to enjoy at the various events.

1985 JU Mini "1979 inspired"

1979%20JU%20Mini%20JTFreestyle.jpg

1979%20JU%20sequencev%20JTFreestyle.gif

Jeff Utterback had a side project called JU after GJS closed in 1985. He designed approximately 250 of these mini frame and forks for riders under 70 pounds.

They were very light but a tad weak on the upsweep down tube where they would crack. The seat post clamp area had a hole for the GJS seat post clamp. With the limited number available and awesome design I thought I would give the bike a vintage 1979 feel for JU's heyday of racing.
