MelvinsArmy 167 Posted January 2, 2020 Missing the warmer weather and my evening loops on the cruiser. In the meantime, waiting for real winter to arrive so I can put some miles on the new fat bike! I’m spoiled by the sweet single track a block from my house.

MelvinsArmy 167 Posted January 28, 2020 From this afternoon. If you look real close, that’s a retro GT stem holding S&M bars on my fat bike.
MelvinsArmy 167 Posted February 2, 2020 It’s 54 today on this Superbike Sunday. The 5 year old and I went out for a ride. On the way out of the driveway I heard a PFSSSSSSSHH! coming from behind me. As I suspected, my daughter’s tire blew out. One too many skids in the driveway. She’s been riding a 12” princess bike for 2 summers now. I don’t have any 12” tires or tubes on hand so I pulled down the 16” Barbie bike we’ve been waiting for her to grow into. She hopped on and it fit! It’s still a bit big for her, but it’s less squirrely than the 12”. We did a nice 3-4 mile puddle filled cruise. 3 speed 26” kid chaser/escort-mobile.

Curt 111 Posted February 4, 2020 Oh and that fat bike has me interested. I have a cousin in Minnesota and he has one and raves about it.

Mine is a Surly Ice Cream Truck, which has 4.8” tires. I used to have a Surly Wednesday that had 3.8” tires. Both are great and allow me to ride year round. Granted, it’s a fraction of the hours I get in compared to the warmer months, between less daylight and lower temps. Bundled up, I’m good down to about 10 degrees. If I didn’t already have a sick mountain bike, I could see having a 4” tire fat bike as my all around mountain bike. They’re a lot of fun.
