Cheng Shin Snakebellies

Recommended Posts

I know that someone here will know this question. Can someone tell me if Cheng Shin Snakebelly tires are original old school tires or are they modern copies? I don't remember seeing them back in the day.

They were factory equipment on 84 Haro Sports, were used in the Raleigh range in the same era

Never heard about that Mr CB... you got a pic ?

Absolutely old school tires.

Very nice looking Snake Belly pattern too.

Like Double Chevron said above.

they were factory Spec on 84 Haro Sports, early 80s (maybe 82 ish) Raleigh, and some Schwinn race bikes around 81-84.

I have a few sets, some are labeled "Schwinn" some Raleigh" some "Cheng Shin"... and they are the exact same ties as another set I have that are labeled "Schwinn Scrambler" I believe the Scrambler snake bellies were a tad earlier - but they're the same tire.

I don't have all my pics but here are the Raleigh labeled ones.

yep, real, recent cheng shins. not skinwalls or gumwalls , though.

no pics, but they were on non-BMX Jamis kids bikes. mostly all-white on girl's bikes, but some all-black on boy's bikes occasionally. i swapped out a few sets for myself :naughty:
