lboorse, sorry...i don't know.

No problem -- I had flashbacks of my childhood Spiral Bikes (of Brooklyn) "Copperhead" that my parents bought me when I was in gradeschool. Mine was chrome, but very similar. It had a fat headtube and a piss-poor weld spot where the seat stays meet the seat tube.

the guy that had the holmes said: "i want $1000"

i asked: "why so much?"

seller said: "don't get rude, you don't know anything about bikes. i've been riding bike for years...if you need to ask then you don't know".

i laughed and said: "rude??...i'm just trying to know why it's so much"....... "ok, power series cranks....$300-$400...where's the rest?"

his friend said: "oh...he does know"

seller says: "those cranks go for over $600 on ebay"

i said: "not in that condition but if you say so. you'll be bringing it home with you....i'll check it out next week when you bring it back"

then walked away.

I hear ya.. everyone is an expert now. I had a guy tell me at a cycle swap his redline 500b was worth $425.00. I respectfully declined. I went back this year.. Guess what? he had the same bike! and he took it home again.. everyone thinks their old junk is gold. this is even more true with the rusty junk 10 speeds people try to pawn off for 125-175. what a joke.

this is kinda rad.

for the last couple years i see a guy ride up to my local flea market on this.   he always locks it up to a tree and shops around for a bit.   the crazy thing tho, he's an older asian man (probably in his his mid 70's) that barely speaks english.

:jimmy:
