I hope! You never know, she may love it....she may think it's ugly.

She loves her current bike so she might not have any interest in the Bassett...we'll see...

Nice cruiser... If you need any cool metal baskets, or a solid Astubula stem, I got um. Good luck with that baby!

Is it brass plated over nickle to get that gold finish (like Jags were) or paint?

I don't believe it's paint, plated over nickel most likely...

Hey Ryan ,that year Chuck Rodgers ran brass plated w/ clear powder over on all the bike models in limited numbers..just something different to do if I remember correctly.

Awesome find Ryan. I love it! I agree the curve of the rear of that ride is amazing. Both the bike and the girl in the article!

Thanks for the kind words fellas! And thanks for that info dtr! That helps alot!

Originally I was gonna hide this bike at Larock's house for a few weeks until my woman's birthday and give it to her as a gift. Then I started wondering if she was even going to like it at all. It's not "pretty" like her S&S Newport, and she might not appreciate the patina. Plus, she might not have any interest in having more than one bike. So I decided I'd show it to her early and see what she thought...

Turns out she loves it. Not only that, but I think I've created a monster. She said things like, "You think you're the only one who gets to have more than 1 bike to ride?" and "I love it...but I like anodized rims better." She actually prefers the patina and thinks that if it were minty gold it would look "too blingy".

I'm currently building an OG black painted Bassett so I think she likes the idea of having his/hers matching cruisers.

That's so cool Ryan. Sounds like you have a good woman there. I need to find my wife a cool ladies frame.
