Jim Melton - a great man has passed

Recommended Posts

Most of you know by now...  Jim passed away this morning.

His daughter posted this yesterday:

Please remember our Dad, Jim Melton, in your thoughts and prayers. He has been in ICU at Ozark Medical Center in West Plains, Mo for over a week now. He has been diagnosed with Tick Fever and Bacterial Pneumonia. He will be in the hospital for a while.

This morning the news was that Jim was gone.

The guy was impeccable.  The level of integrity and patience and goodness is unsurpassed.

It's a huge loss.

*Thank you Paul Morton for the photo.

I just want to add a few more pics, I know I have more on an inaccessible hard drive, but I have these at hand, and I want you guys in these pictures to save a copy for yourselves, if you feel so inclined. This will make it easy for you to find them.

Naturally if others have photos of themselves or others with Jim, feel free to post. It will be appreciated.

Jim was so gracious.  Besides signing everybody's stuff and posing with 100's of people who wanted a shot with him... how about the 1000's of e-mails about JMC he has responded to over the years?  Amazing.

R.I.P. Mr. Melton.

He was a great and amazing person.

So glad I got to meet him at a few of the BMXS Reunions.

Sad day, he will be truly missed. His creations are the sole reason I got back into BMX, which in turn allowed me to meet and befriend some of the greatest people, literally across the globe. God Speed Jim, you're still and always will be "The Best".

God Bless...
