OG brown S&M Dirtbike finished

Recommended Posts

I grabbed this off my local Craigslist a few weeks ago as a pile of parts. I tried to use as much of the original parts as I could. The seller was the original owner, and said that he received this frame fork and bars from Chris after breaking his Holmes. This is a fairly scarce sticker set, and all others I've seen are 1 1/8". The Cramps sticker on the right fork leg was almost completely gone, but I figured out what it was by the shadow in the chrome. Found the correct sticker on eBay to replace it. Frame, fork, headset, gyro, bars, wheels, pedals, chain, and chainwheel are all original to the bike, the rest I added to make it complete.

Killer!

Digging The Cramps sticker too. Might have to copy that idea and get one for the wife's bike, she's a big fan.

I put it at 1995 based on the sticker set.

Steve, I have seen a couple brown ones, but it is an unusual color for sure.

Very cool find. I've always said those were 1995's too. It's from that transitional period where some got 1" threaded and others got the new 1 1/8" threadless front end. That sticker set didn't last long.

Some guys used to think that sticker set was from 92 or 93 but there's no way. All those frames with that decal set have solid 1 piece dropouts that are welded on the inside as well as the outside, which was a new thing starting in 94. Also, by this time in 95 most all the frames had 990 mounts as a standard feature, rather than an "option" in previous years.
